"THAT GUY WAS SO INTO YOU!"

Natasha rolled her eyes, lazily waving Valerie off. The four of them stumbled back into the building just before the 1am curfew, giggling and 'shh'ing each other as they did. One by one, they separated into their units, with Valerie being last since she was on a different floor. As she rode the spinning elevator down, she leaned on the wall. How she could manage to walk in the inches-high boots was beyond her. Maybe she had a super power of her own.

She stepped out of the elevator, someone's shadow startling her.

"Have a good evening?" Bucky leaned against his own doorway.

"Have you been standing there all night waiting for me to get home?" Her level of sobriety altered her ability to be all mysterious and cool.

"Why else would I stand out here?"

She fished her keys out of her purse. "I'm surprised you're not already in my unit waiting."

He chuckled. "I'm practicing boundaries."

She hummed, still fidgeting with her keys. Her partially blurred vision prevented her from spotting which key was for her front door. She turned her head over her shoulder as her fingers fidgeted, smiling nonchalantly to Bucky, who was still watching her with amusement evident on his face.

"Need some help there, doll?"

"I got it," She mumbled.

Finally the door relented, and she opened it, stumbling a bit. She kicked off her boots, turning to say goodnight. Since turning, he had gotten much closer, now leaning on her doorframe.

"Can we talk?"

"Why?" She scrunched her face. "Because I won't remember it in the morning?"

"No, because it's all I've wanted to do for a few months."

She frowned, stepping aside so he could enter. Suddenly, she felt very self-concious of her apartment being a little cluttered. She was also acutely aware of the stockings that kept catching his eyes.

"Can I pour you some water?" He asked.

"Fine,"

"I would ask how you've been, but it seems you've never been better."

She scoffed. "You don't know that."

"You seem happy,"

"I guess some time will do that to you," She spat out, regretting her harsh tone immediately.

"Well, time can be good."

She furrowed her brows. "Yeah, so you've said."

"Alright, I get it. I'm sorry for leaving without saying anything." He handed her the glass of water, their fingertips grazing as the glass went into her hand. "I didn't want you to convince me not to go,"

"I probably wouldn't have," She lied.

"Right." He watched her intently as she gulped the water down. "Well, if you had even made a face at my idea I wouldn't have gone."

"So you went on a little MONA hunt?"

"Somewhat. I was really following Cody around Europe for two months."
