EMERGENCY MEETING.

Tony's message came a couple of days later. They all urgently filed into the conference room, Valerie included. She looked around at everyone, getting different reads on their faces. Bucky sat across from her, looking way too nervous for her comfort.

"I'm going to get right into it," Tony spoke. "We have a mole in this tower."

Only Valerie looked shocked, and this wildly confused her.

"That same mole has been feeding intel to MONA, the shiny new organization run by post-HYDRA members."

"For how long?" Steve asked.

"Since we got these new phones."

"Do we have any suspects yet?" Natasha asked.

"We're working on it. Fury has been notified and we're to keep the tower on lockdown until we can figure it out. Until then, we need to locate these members and neutralize their hiding spots. The target wasn't enough."

"I'm on it," Nat responded.

"Bruce, Vision, and Wanda will assist. Once we locate them, we're suiting up."

Each member nodded. Valerie felt goosebumps running down her arms wondering how Bucky felt. The look on his face told her he knew, however. This must've been discussed on their latest mission.

"Now," Tony's attention turned to Valerie. "I was told that you received a letter,"

Valerie furrowed her brows. How could Tony know? The only person she told was--

"Yes, Barnes told me." Tony continued. "What was the letter about?"

"I got a letter from a man claiming to be my father." She didn't look at Bucky, feeling completely caught off guard. "He sent an address to meet this morning."

"Do you have it?"

She dug it out of her pocket, seeing Bucky frown out of the corner of her eye.

"Has he ever contacted you before recently?" Steve asked.

"No,"

"Does he have any proof?"

"I don't know."

"We can't allow it," Tony spoke.

"Please," She whispered. "This could be the only family member I have left. Couldn't I at least just see what he has to say? I could take one of you with me. You could keep watch."

"Valerie," Natasha tried. "This letter came to you the same week we went on a mission because MONA's base popped back up on our radar. That raises some concern,"

"What would they even want with me?" She felt tears prick in her eyes, fighting hard to keep them there. "I have nothing to do with MONA."

"You do now," Bucky spoke softly.

She snapped her head to him, feeling angry at the remorseful look on his face. She tore her eyes from his, unable to look at him.

"This could help us," Wanda chimed in. "Maybe she can get information on the man."
