BUCKY WOULD JUST COME RIGHT OUT AND SAY IT.

Except when he saw her in the gym, his breath hitched. She had sweat dripping down her arms, making her skin glow in the flourescent lighting. She was hitting a punching bag as T'Challa counted her off and he couldn't help but stare. He could be next to the world's most magnificent painting and his focus would still be on her.

"Earth to Bucky," Sam waved a hand in front of his face.

"What?"

"I said, 'why are you sitting in here staring like a creep'?"

Bucky finally looked at Sam, who was also sweaty from training. He wasn't sure how long he'd been staring in the breakroom through the glass, but he knew he'd watched basically her entire routine.

"I'm not staring,"

"You're even drooling a little bit--"

He was cut off by Bucky shoving Sam's hand away from his mouth.

"Haven't you two made up yet?"

"Why are you playing dumb? I thought you two were 'bros',"

"We are," Sam grinned. "But she hasn't said much about y'all's little sleepover,"

"Do any of you honestly have nothing better than to just talk about me and Valerie"

Sam pretended to think for a moment. "No, we don't."

"This looks interesting," Valerie's voice was heard from the doorway.

The two men snapped their gazes to her, not realizing she had even stopped working out.

"He was staring at you," Sam instantly said.

Bucky looked to Sam with the most threatening glare that even Valerie got chills.

"Oh, yeah?" She smirked.

God, what that smirk did to him.

"I wasn't staring," Bucky shook his head. "I was watching your form,"

"I'm helping you here," Sam muttered in a low voice.

"Do not ever help me," Bucky muttered back.

The two were locked in a staring contest as Valerie cleared her throat. "Okay, well, while you guys get that sorted out, I'm gonna go,"

"Wait, I need to talk to you," Bucky followed after her.

"I don't think he wants to talk!" Sam called, causing Bucky to send a middle finger behind his back as he held the door open for her.

"What was that about?" She inquired innocently, sipping her water.

"Nothing, he's just stirring the pot."

"You can just admit you were staring,"

"You're confident today," He chuckled. "Fine, I was staring."

She bit down on the spout of her water bottle with a grin as she looked up at him. His skin burned from her gaze as he tried to maintain his composure. The elevator was no place for what he wanted to do right now, and that's exactly where the pair found themselves.

"Is what you need to talk about urgent or can I get cleaned up first? I'd like to gauge if I need to smell good for this,"

"You smell fine," He scoffed.
