Lara spent the next hour exploring the village and gathering her supplies. She talks with Parry Pippins about the art of potion making and his family business. Thomas Brown, the owner of the Tomes and Scrolls bookstore tells her about Conjuring, Lara couldn't wait to have her first Transfiguration lesson. Timothy Teasdale, owner of The Magic Neep plant and produce stand tells her how he keeps his produce cart outside so he can socialize with people better and that many people including Pippin come to him for ingredients for their potions.

Lara: "Let's see I have my books, potion supplies, seeds for Herbology, all that's left is my wand."

"I can't wait!" Elizabeth squeals, James and Lily chuckle at their daughters' excitement; they too are interested in seeing Lara get her wand.

Ollivanders

Lara walks into the store expecting to find Mr Ollivander but finds no one there until she hears someone grumbling from the back of the store.

Gerbold Ollivander: "Merlin's. Blooming. Beard. Not again."

She decides to ring the bell on his desk.

Ding-Ding-Ding!

Gerbold Ollivander: "I'll be right with - Ah! It's you! Um, just a moment, please." A man with gray hair and killer mutton chops, dressed in a red coat pops his head out from around the corner. He seems to have been expecting her and rushes off to put away the dozens of boxes he was carrying, we hear the sound of them crashing on a table in the background.

Gerbold Ollivander: "Ah. Hmm."  The wandmaker returns and dusts himself off suggesting he was in his workshop when Lara arrived.

Lara: "Hello sir. I'm looking for -"

Gerbold Ollivander: "For a new wand, yes. It's about time."

Lara: "Yes, I - about time?"

Gerbold Ollivander: "Well, you're our new fifth-year student, are you not? Oh, what am I saying? Of course you are. Gerbold Ollivander's the name! But, of course, you'll have heard of the Ollivanders, I'm sure. Finest wandmakers in the world. It's a pleasure to meet you, truly. Now, come with me. Let's find you the perfect wand, shall we?"

"How would she know about the Ollivanders, she was raised in the Muggle world?" Neville asks his mother.

"I'm sure Professor Fig taught her the basics and what not." She says while brushing her son's hair, said son blushed in embarrassment.

James and Sirius were bouncing in their seats in anticipation.

He leads her over to a wall full of boxes and starts searching.

Gerbold Ollivander: "Hmmmmm. No, no, no, not you-" He grabs one of the boxes.

Gerbold Ollivander: "(to self) Ah, yes - yes. Powerful core, ten and a half inches - you might do. Here, give this one a try."

"I've always wondered how Ollivander decides what wand to try next."

"The secrets of wand making are unknown to us and the Ollivander family are unlikely to share them with us."

Lara grabs the wand from the box, Ollivander tells her to give it a swish. The wand sparks a little but does nothing, puzzled he suggests she try again but swish a little harder. This time the wand launches out of her hand and starts shooting fireworks around the shop.

People laugh at the chaos.

"Why do the wands react so chaotically in Ollivander's store but outside the store they work fine, I know if you are using someone else's wand you have to push your magic through it harder than you would if it was your own wand, but they don't react like this?"
