A/N: Ranked #1 Hogwarts Legacy fanfic on Wattpad, or at least it was last night now it's #2 :(. (7/26/2024)
Room of Requirement
Lara: "I still don't understand it, Athena, I keep having these visions. When a Seer has a vision it can be a warning, or a prophecy or something. I'm guessing the visions of the Potters were meant to show me who my birth family was, but I don't understand the significance of the one I had the other day."
The Potters smile at their heiress finally acknowledging them as her family.
Flashback
Lara is working on her Charms homework when she is suddenly thrown into another vision.
We see beautiful study, in the background we hear the sound of someone writing with a quill. The camera changes to behind the desk, the person sitting in the chair is not visible but the camera does change to show the person's right arm as they write on a piece of parchment. We can't see their face but based on their sleeves and hands we can assume they are female.
Present
Athena: "I'm sure you'll figure it out mistress."
People gasp in awe at seeing someone having a conversation with an owl.
Lara: "(chuckles) I keep forgetting that we can actually communicate with each other like this. (sigh) I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually but right now I need to head to Beasts class."
She gives Athena a few owl treats and strokes her feathers which she knows the owl loves.
People coo at the bond between the two.
Beasts class passes as usual until Poppy whispers something to her.
Poppy: "I think I might have found where the dragon went. Meet me in the town circle in Hogsmeade later?"
Lara: "Of course."
Hogsmeade, later that day
After purchasing some things for Athena, Lara made her way to the town circle where she saw Poppy waiting for her.
Poppy: "It's not like her to forget." She mumbles to herself.
Lara: "I didn't keep you waiting, did I?"
Poppy: "Not at all - I was just at the post office. Gran told me to expect a package, but it looks as if she forgot to send it. She didn't send me an owl this week either. Perhaps she's busy with her research."
A few Aurors, especially Moody, find this behaviour suspicious.
Lara: "What kind of research is she doing?"
Poppy: "It varies from week to week, but it's always to do with creatures. Last week she was studying leg knots in Plimpys."
Lara: "What did you find out about the dragon you were tracking?"
Poppy: "I realised that she didn't know the poachers had her egg. So when she left Horntail Hall, she would've headed straight to her nest. I went back to the tent and tracked her flight."
"How do you track a dragon long after she's gone?" Elizabeth asks.
Lara: "How do you track a dragon long after she's gone?"
Elizabeth blushed, her friends laugh at her saying the same thing as her sister.
Poppy: "Tree canopies, burn marks, things like that."
