More than a month has passed, it's currently December and snow blankets the ground and in that time several things have happened, Sebastian has continued to press Ominis for information about Salazar's scriptorium but Ominis doesn't relent. He says that Slytherin was known for his use of the Dark Arts and he wants nothing to do with it, for some reason Lara doesn't think the history books are correct however she does agree that the Dark Arts are dangerous. In addition to Sebastian, she and Natty have made progress in trying to incriminate Harlow. They rescued a boy named Archie Bickle from Harlow's men who captured him when they killed his father who, like them, was trying to find evidence against Harlow. They returned the boy to his hysterical mother Johanna Bickle who passed on the information her husband was able to find before his death which Natty said she would bring to Officer Singer and maybe this time she could do something with it. Besides her adventures with her friends she has managed to rescue multiple beasts from the poachers and relocate them to the vivariums including a Kneazle, a few Diriclaws, and even a few Unicorns.

(A/N: just to be clear just because I didn't write about a mission doesn't necessarily mean it didn't happen.)

In addition to all this she has continued to read Ravenclaw's journal. She learned that Rowena was able to figure out part of what happened to Salazar. According to her, Salazar Slytherin was out looking for new students when one of the students' siblings sold them out to the rest of the village. When Salazar returned a week later, he discovered that the promising future witches and wizards he found had all been drowned or burnt at the stake. What happened after that she doesn't know but her guess is that he snapped and killed the entire village.

People were surprised by this revelation, could it be true? Could Salazar Slytherin actually not be the pure-blood supremacist history believes him to be? Was he just a traumatized man who let his trama consume him? Lily couldn't help but think about what happened to her after Lara disappeared. She was consumed in her grief, neglected her family, struggled with alcohol addiction, and more. She used to be such a cheery person, someone who would not be pushed around by others and would stand up to bullies, but now she is a scared, nervous wreck.

In addition, she also found several entries written in two different languages she couldn't identify and couldn't find anything about them in the library. However, every time she tries to study the strange languages she would get a headache, it's like her brain knows the language but doesn't want her to translate it. In addition to the headaches her ears frequently hurt, they felt like they were rearranging themselves which caused her periods of hearing sensitivity. Groaning at another futile session Lara decides to check on her new owl, Athena, who Professor Howin recently cleared to fly.  Lara was amazed at the owl's transformation from wounded animal to regal bird.

Lara: "(sigh) I just don't understand it Athena, it's as if I know the language but can't remember it!"
