Marco Revello

Ezhil was in my reach. She was not in another room nor was she in another city. In front of me stood a troubled woman. Taken back by my words with her mouth slightly agape. I could pull her closer to me, I could tell her how the nights she spends away from me brought me nothing but torment. I should tell her how I have memorized her face and how she appears in my dreams. How her voice is deeply engraved inside of my brain like a beautiful melody.

"Marco." She now whispers in defeat. As if she is fighting a battle and miserably losing.

Without giving it any more thoughts I pulled her closer to me. My hand rested on her waist as I cupped her face gently, forcing her to look into my eyes.

"Marco." Ezhil said again, this time I had trouble pinpointing the emotions that laced her voice.

"Yes?" I ask confused with a softened gaze. Searching her eyes for something, anything that would justify the emotions behind her voice.

She sighs softly. "I don't think this is a good idea."
Confusion plastered across my face.

"I don't think-" I pulled her in closer. The sudden movement must have taken her by surprise. I pushed her hair away that framed her face, giving me a better look.

"Then don't think." I whispered to her, desperately trying not to cross any lines.

Ezhil's wishes were understandable. Her not wanting anything to do with me wasn't a surprise. A life of criminality and violence is one that not many strive for. She should seek tranquility. A man that could balance her perfectly, that is why my mind desires. My heart, though, has a mind of its own. Instead of stopping myself in my tracks I find myself staring at her plump lips.

Deep down she must think of me as a horrible man. Someone that takes lives without second thoughts. A criminal and a liar. A man such as myself isn't allowed to let emotions control me. Father was rather strict when it came to love. Teaching me that if I ever let down my guard it couldn't be around a woman and for once I could agree with him on something. Ezhil could easily expose my family and me to the world. Make sure that I spend the remainder of my life behind bars. Locked away and stripped from my freedom. Yet this burning feeling in my chest consumed me entirely. Honestly, if she were the one to ruin me, I admit I wouldn't mind.

"Bad or good ideas don't matter to me. All I'm thinking right now is how much I want to kiss you." I told her and perhaps this was the first time I have ever been so up front with her.

I waited for her to push me away or to even tell me that I was insane for even having those thoughts. Instead she bites her bottom lip causing me to trace her lips and pull it from between her teeth.

"Then do it." She whispered softly and that is all I had to hear.

Crashed my lips onto hers. Our mouths moved slowly against each other making me yearn for more. Her soft lips against mine was all I had been dreaming about. A soft moan left her lips making it hard for me to think clearly.

The office doors slam open. "Mako?"

Ezhil pushes me away as she looks flustered at the two boys standing in the hallway. I lick my lips as I glance over at the kids.

"What did I tell you about slamming doors open?" I questioned them. Theodore looks away like a deer caught in headlights, while Elias seems to be deep in thoughts. Probably not remembering a word I had said.

Leon appears behind the children with a confused look on his face. "I put your luggage in your room." He informed me, and from his demeanor I knew I had to hurry.
