Marco Revello

The CCTV footage shows masked men entering my apartment building. Different footage shows how they entered my apartment and went through my belongings. Clearly searching for something and once they didn't find what they were looking for dumped everything on the floor.

Sure I knew this would happen, that's why I told Sophia to get out of that building yet it didn't stop the irritation from clouding my mind. Annoyance is probably evident on my face as I stare at my screen. Rhys hands me his iPad and shows me the state my house is in. Just like my apartment, it was completely trashed. My expensive furniture that I had Miss Singh search the entire country for were ruined. Paintings that have cost me a fortune were painted over in a thick layer of Red paint.

"The boys are with Massimo, right?" I quickly questioned Rhys.

"They are staying with Massimo for the moment. Leon will bring both of them here shortly." Rhys informed me.

"How has Isabelle been taking all of this?" I asked him curiously.

Rhys readjusts his glasses. "She seems rather friendly to Sophia. I did tell her that it might not be genuine instead an attempt to lower her guard yet she begs to differ."

I nodded my head as I slowly rose up. Rhys instantly came to my aid. "I should probably pay them a visit."

"Today?" Rhys asks, completely taken back.

"Yes, today."

Rhys seemed visibly displeased with my decision. "The doctor told you to rest, besides your family will be here shortly." He argued and right in the moment the sound of the front door being opened invaded my ears.

Small yet loud footsteps entered the house. Running around and stopping right at my feet. Looked up to meet my eyes with a bright smile plastered on his face.

"Mako!" Elias screams rather loudly as he tries to jump into my arms yet Leon stops him right in time, causing him to pout his lips and frown.

"You're mean." Elias comes to the conclusion as he glances over to Leon. The adults in the room end out in a fit of laughter. Yet Elias' attempt for a hug wasn't finished, instead he wrapped his arms around my leg.

I ruffled his hair, unsure of what else to do. Rhys told me it might take a while before they were comfortable with me. Especially after what they have gone through, trust might be rather hard to win. I slowly picked him up despite the stabbing pain in my stomach. Held him close to me as I let out a deep breath.

"I don't think that-"

"Let them be." Rhys comments as we all head to the living room.

There wasn't much I could lose. The family bond was overpowering yet it held me so tight it became suffocating. Once one is placed into a certain position, it's hard to break free from it. I was the Don, head of the Revello family. Majority of the decisions were made only by me.

As my eyes roam around the living room I feel regret building into my stomach, almost masking the pain. I let out a deep breath as I watched them watching me. Their eyes filled with relief and perhaps anger. Angry because I didn't once consider the danger I'm putting myself in.

"I..." my voice waver, it shakes. For once I'm not sure of what I want to say, or what I should say in a situation like this.

I have a brilliant plan, I found a way to catch Mr Reed and change the tides yet not once did I consider their feelings. Perhaps for the longest I was convinced I had to do everything on my own. Asking for any help would make me weak, unfit to lead.
