Marco Revello

I loosened my tie and removed it from around my neck. Unbuttoned my shirt yet stopped in my tracks as someone knocked loudly on my bedroom door. Before I could even comment, the door was already opened by a very disturbed Leon. His eyebrows knitted together as he took me in. He brought his hands through his messy dark curls.

"I thought I told you to leave Leon." I said as I took off my shirt.

"They are fighting." He answers.

I shrugged. "Every couple fights."

Leon shakes his head. "Why did you have me trace her every movement?"

I crossed my arms as I observed him. The usually playful man stood in front of me as if he had seen a ghost. "To keep an eye on her."

"Because something seemed suspicious right?" He asked me. I nodded my head, to confirm what he was saying.

I admit no matter how hard I thought about our first encounter, it didn't make any sense. Why would she hide behind me and refuse her boyfriend to approach her? Why would she rather follow a stranger than stay with her own boyfriend? Why would she beg me to help her? Others don't interest me yet I grew so painfully curious as to why she acted the way she did.

I put my shirt back on as I walked past Leon slightly annoyed. Quickly grabbed my keys and headed towards my car. Curiously I drove to her house she desperately tried to keep hidden from me. Knocked a few times yet received no reply. Confused, I peek through the window. From where I stood it gave me a clear view of the living room.

She laid on the floor staring at her boyfriend with wide eyes. He held a knife and all she could do was bring her arms to cover her face. I curse to myself as I look for a way to break in. My heart pounding inside of my chest while swiftly grabbing a baseball bat I kept in my car. Swinged my bat with all my might to break her window. After my fifth attempt I watched her window shatter. Pieces of glass covered her carpet yet that didn't matter.

Her boyfriend launched at her. A weird sight to see. The same man she defended was trying to harm her. Before he could even take another step closer to her I pulled him backwards. Making him stumble over his own feet, surprised he turns around to face me.

"Why am I not surprised you are here?" He scoffed as he glared at me. I punched him before he could say more.

"You would have heard me breaking in if you weren't so focused." I remind him as I take the knife from him.

Samuel is angered, I can tell by the way his eyes darkened. Or how he was now launching at me with all his speed. Desperately trying to fight me however his attempt was amusing. He pushed me hard against the wall causing a few pictures to tumble over. His arms quickly travel down my neck trying to block my airway. I punch in his stomach causing him to hunch over in pain.

My irritation changed into anger. As I got on top of him there were no rational thoughts. My mind swelled out with the idea of killing him. Without hesitation my fist made contact with his face again and again, there was truly no end. His blood soon stained my hands as he winced in pain.

It all dawned on me that he must have hurt her more than once for her to react in such a way. He must have terrified her to the point she deemed a stranger safer than her own boyfriend.

"You're lucky we aren't in Italy. If we were you would be dead by now." I whisper in his ear before I wipe my blood stained hands on his shirt.

I turned all my attention to Ezhil who stared at me frightened. The state she was in made me want to turn around and actually kill him yet that wasn't what she needed the most right now, I'll kill him later. Her neck was completely bruised. I could see faint signs of strangulation. Instinctively I reach out to look for more bruises causing her to flinch.
