Marco Revello

I was truly no saint yet as my gaze was glued on the woman right beside me, I figured I must have done good deeds in my life to still receive such a precious gift. My heart, my smiles, even my tears belonged to her.

"What are your honeymoon plans?" Massimo wondered as he took a sip from his glass of champagne.

"I'll get her a new car and a trip to a warm exotic country, like she wanted." I whispered not wanting her to hear me. Massimo chuckled softly as he exchanged looks between a very distracted Ezhil and me.

Massimo raises his glass of champagne. "I wish you all the happiness in the world brother. You do deserve it." He spoke as his eyes were fixated on me.

I chuckled softly. "Thank you." I whispered softly as my eyes roam around the room.

Our wedding was a small one, there weren't many people on both sides to invite. The after party however caused our house to be packed. I watched how Ezhil's mother was in a deep conversation with Serafina's mother. The children ran around the graden, dropping coins into the water fountain and looking back to see if anyone caught on. The sight of Brenda and Leon walking hand in hand did take me back but Ezhil didn't seem surprised in the slightest.

I couldn't help myself and broke out into a smile. For the longest time it has always been just my brothers and me and until some months ago I was still convinced it will stay that way. However it warms me up to look around the garden and see that after all we aren't truly alone.

To escape from all the noise, I briefly headed back into the house. Walked into the kitchen to fix myself a glass of water. Rhys sat there with his eyes fixated on his phone. Most likely texting Sophia that couldn't make it in time, which had left her very upset.

"Is she still sad?" I questioned him despite already knowing the answer.

He nods his head. "Yes, I send her all the pictures I took of you and Ezhil but that seems to only upset her more." He said and I could see why it would make her more upset.

I let out a deep sigh as I grabbed a glass from the cabinet. "Do you think she will be devastated if she found out you betrayed me?" I wondered as I filled up my glass with water. Turning around to face him and the look of shock plastered on his face was rather amusing.

This wasn't my plan, in fact I planned on killing him. Tear him apart and leave him to die somewhere. Tell Sophia that he died in an unfortunate accident to spear her to details and the immense heartbreak. Yet each time I watched her eyes light up I wasn't sure how I would leave with myself, knowing I ripped the smile right off her face.

"M-Marco I can explain-"

I placed my glass on the counter. "Do you think she will forgive you?" I questioned him further. Waiting for a response, only for him to remain quiet.

"You think Massimo will forgive you Rhys?" I wondered as I approached with my hands buried deep inside of my pockets. My gaze fixated on him as I still waited for an answer yet it never came. Instead he was quiet, his eyes widened at my words.

"I have thought about it. Replayed the moment Mr Reed's men swarmed our hide out a thousand times in my head. Pondered and wondered who in the world the mole could be..." I stared at him. "You were the first to know about the location. The first to have been there and therefore the only one that could have placed a listening device there." I shake my head as I sat down right beside him.

"Marco-" he calls for me yet I cut him off.

"That's why I'm so curious. Would she be able to look into your eyes knowing that you planned on killing the people close to her? If it had only been me that night I wouldn't care-" I grabbed my gun from underneath my clothes and placed it on his temple. "Yet my entire family was there, Rhys. So give me one good reason why I should shoot you in the head."
