Chapter 25

Liv POV

I was on a beach in a chair on St. John. The white sand between my toes as I looked out at the ocean with a coconut drink in my hand with a pink straw. I looked over and saw my mom wearing a black swimsuit with a flower print throughout the suit. I looked down and saw I was wearing a purple bikini with a white coverup. My hair was pulled back into a high ponytail.

"Mom?" I asked.

"Liv, what has gotten into you?" She asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You and Cole are fighting over a song, that isn't all that sexy, but it works for you," my mom said.

"Why can't he see that?" I asked.

"He is trying to protect you," my mom said. "He is just looking out for you, he doesn't want your fans or anyone else trying to change you or talk you down. You are stronger than that," she said.

I rolled my eyes. "Tell me something that no one else has told me," I said.

"Liv, I wouldn't have asked Theresa to have her son marry you if I didn't think it was going to work," my mom said.

"Well, it's not working," I said.

"This is just another bump in the road. He didn't mean what he said to you. He still loves you," My mom said.

I shook my head. "No, he doesn't. He hasn't said it to me in almost a month. The only time he has told me is when he is around his family, and they know we are fighting," I said.

"Olivia, some advice to you, tell him you love him, show him what it was like falling in love with him all those many years ago. He wasn't doing it out of pity. Cole knew you needed time to process what had just happened before you started to open up to him. Try doing that, remind him how it used to be," My mom said. I nodded my head.

"I can try," I said before my mom started to fade away. "Mom!" I shouted.

I woke up in a panic. I was breathing heavy. I looked around and saw I was in my room in LA. I took a few deep breaths before I got up and went into the bathroom. I grabbed my pill and took it before washing it down with some water. I looked at myself in the mirror.

"Why are these voices so loud?" I asked myself.

I walked out and grabbed my phone. It was only a little after midnight. I turned on the light and grabbed my laptop. I put my glasses on before I opened a document and started writing.

"Louder, louder,

The voices in my head

Whispers taunting

All the things you said

Faster the days go by and I'm still

Stuck in this moment of wanting you here

Time."

I looked at the word time as I slowly brought myself back to that moment on the balcony with Cole.

"In the blink of an eye

You held me hand, you held me tight

Now you're gone

And I'm still crying

Shocked, broken

I'm dying inside."

"Mom," I said quietly.

I looked up at the ceiling. "Where are you?" I asked.

I started writing again.
