Chapter 44

Recap

Liv POV

"We are going to get you checked out now," Cole said. I got up and started to gather my things before I left the studio. I got into Cole's car as I looked out the window. "I am sure it's nothing," Cole said.

"No, there has to be something! I have been telling you for weeks something is up, but you just kept avoiding it," I said.

"I am going to call you out on this, I think you are making up a story just so you can get out of getting your permit," Cole said.

"What?" I asked.

"You don't want to get your permit, because you are scared," Cole said.

"I am scared! I don't think I could be able to drive a car, and I know I can't because there is a stupid black line in my eye!" I said as the tears started to fall.

"Breathe," Cole said taking my hand. I took a deep breath. "We will talk more later," he said before he turned the car on and started to head towards the eye doctors.

I grabbed a Kleenex from the glove compartment and cleaned my eyes. I looked out the window as Cole drove.

"I think Scooter is behind us," Cole said. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw a green color car following close behind Cole.

"Yeah, that would be him," I said.

We made it to the eye doctor's a few minutes later. We walked in as they were already expecting us.

"Did you call?" I asked Scooter when he walked in behind us.

"Yes, this is your eyes we are talking about," he said. "Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Scooter asked.

"No one was listening to me at home," I said looking down. I got handed the clipboard as I filled it out the best I could. I had to go to Cole for a few things on the form though.

"Olivia?" I heard the woman ask. I got up as they took me to the one room. "Are you having any vision issues?" She asked.

I nodded my head as I took a seat in front of the machine. "There is a black line in my left eye," I said.

"A black line? Horizontal or vertical?" She asked.

"Vertical," I said.

I saw the woman start writing in my chart. We went through the different tests, before they had me do the rental screening, where they take a picture of the back of your eyes.

"I'm hoping I will just need a stronger lens," I said.

"Maybe," the woman said. "Let's go to the back room, you can bring your friends with you," the woman said. I nodded my head.

I walked out of the room and went over to Cole and Scooter. "Can you come to the back room with me?" I asked. They nodded their heads and followed me.

Cole took my hand as we walked towards the back room. Cole squeezed my hand four times as he led me to the chair in the middle of the room. Cole stood near me as I looked over at him.

"Liv, you are okay," Cole said. I shook my head.

"I have a bad feeling something more is wrong than just my vision," I said.

"Did you take an anxiety pill?" Cole asked. I nodded my head.

"Yes, but that was mainly for the performance, because I was scared about hurting your feelings with the songs," I said. Cole shook his head.
