🕊️

Mondays. No one likes Mondays.

People are feeling tired and grumpy because they had to wake up early. Some decided not to come so they could sleep more after partying on the weekend and some are even sleeping in their cars in the parking lot.

The teacher kept speaking with his bored and flat tone about how starfish work, the lights are out and the class is silent.

That's it, I'm gonna take a nap.

I took off my zip up hoodie and put it on the desk, resting my head on it. The sound of the bubbles on the water tank beside me were so calming that it helped me drift faster to the dream land.

But someone decided to interrupt me.

"Wake up," I heard someone whispering and poking me on the arm. "Come on, wake up."

I raised my head, looking around the room. No one was paying attention to me, not even the teacher. Other kids were already sleeping and he didn't mind it.

My gaze fell on him, who had a smirk on his face, resting his chin on his right hand. Today he chose not to wear the gray sweater, his sleeves were rolled up until his elbows and the tie was loose. If he is like this in the first period, imagine the seventh.

"What do you want, Perseus?" I whispered, to the boy seated next to me.

"You're gonna miss the class." He pointed to the board.

"Do I look like I give a—"

"Shh, Princess. Stop swearing around."

I untangled my hand from my hoodie and slowly raised my middle finger to him. "I'll get the notes later, you can talk to sea stars anyways." I said, hiding my face again.

"I can't speak to sea stars, they don't have brains." He kicked my leg.

"But you are talking." He stopped and I raised my head.

"What do you mean?" I saw him frowning.

"See, you don't have a brain."

"Fuck you." He pushed my leg one more time and turned to face the board.

I rolled my eyes and rested my head again, just in time for the bell to ring.

"Happy now, Perseus? I couldn't take my nap." I angrily gathered my things.

"Yes, I'm really happy now." I snorted and got out of the classroom, mixing in the middle of the students running to their next classes and dodging groups that stopped along the way to talk, with Percy following me right behind.

"Do me a favor, Perseus. Keep ignoring me because I finally had peace."

"Yeah, that few weeks were actually the best. But unfortunately, your Aunt pays me to speak to you and I need the money for a new skateboard." He smiled ironically.

"Give up and find another job. It was what I did with your mother after our second quest."

He pushed me and I stumbled on my feet, falling straight against the lockers making the sound echo through the loud hallway. I turned back to him, closing my fist tight and clenching my jaw. I pulled him to my height by his tie.

"Just leave me alone, Waterboy."

"What about... no?" He tilted his head to the left, looking into my eyes.

Looking at him like that took me straight to the boy's bathroom in the dam, when Rachel was talking to the skeletons. His face now was so close, I felt lost in his sea green eyes and the sea scent he had. His white strand was falling over his forehead, contrasting with his natural hair color.
