Coffee. Please do not say a word to me until I have had my precious coffee.
Last night, I don't even know what time it was but I can tell you it was still dark, an Aethiopian drakon decided to attack camp and woke me up. It didn't get in, but the screaming sound it was making and the bang sounds of it hitting the border was enough for everyone.
Now sitting down and listening to Lee Fletcher from the Apollo cabin tell how he and a couple of his siblings hit a few dozen arrows in the chinks of the drakon's armor, I was praying to the gods to make him stop talking so we could eat. I know, you must be thinking that I'm too mean, but guys, please I need my coffee. My eyes were closing, I could feel myself drifting to the dream land when Silena poked my arm, moving discreetly her hands and telling me with her eyes that I better sit up. I pressed my lips together, trying to distract myself by doing a loose braid on my hair.
"This is a good reason for new war games," I heard Quintus saying, looking at him I saw a glint in his eyes and a wide smile. "We'll see how you all do with that tonight."
"Yes..." Chiron said. "Well, enough announcements." Oh gods, thank you! "Let us bless this meal and eat." He raised his goblet. "To the gods!"
We all raised our glasses and repeated the blessing. I stood up with my plate in my hands and went near the bronze brazier, scraping a portion of my cheese bread into the flames. I hope mom likes Brazilian food.
"Aphrodite," I mumbled more to myself. "Please protect Nico, wherever he is. Make him come back to camp..."
When I headed back to my table, I noticed Chiron and Grover at Percy's table, talking about something I couldn't hear well. Finally being able to take a sip of my coffee, a hand carefully took it away from me, while the other got hold of my wrist and pulled me to stand up.
"Annie, my love, what the actually fuck?" I whined.
"Don't worry, I'm bringing your food." Gabriel smiled, holding my plate and cup.
Annabeth placed me beside Percy, who was sitting facing Grover. The boy was slightly startled when I bumped my arm into him, looking at Annabeth with a frown on his face while she sat down next to Grover. Gabriel placed my plate and cup in front of me, going around the table and sitting next to Annabeth.
"Annabeth, this is not allowed, you know that." I widened my eyes.
"Doesn't matter now." She said, "We need to talk."
One thing was a satyr sitting at different tables, another thing was demigods sitting at other tables. It was against the rules, everyone knew that. I could feel everyone's eyes on us, whispering and saying that if Mr. D was here we would've probably been strangled. I have to agree with them, he would have. I got off my thoughts when I saw Percy getting one cheese bread from my plate. I glanced at him with all my anger but he only smirked and bit the bread.
"Look," Annabeth started, making me shift my attention to her. "Grover is in trouble, there's only one way we can figure out how to help him. It's the Labyrinth."
"You mean the maze where they kept the minotaur, back in the old days?" Percy asked.
"Yeah, that's what Clarisse, Annabeth and I have been investigating..." I drank my coffee, which by the way was already cold.
"So... it's not under the king's palace in Crete any more," Percy guessed. "The Labyrinth is under some building in America." He sounded proud of himself, which made me roll my eyes.
"Seriously Waterboy, it's not just because you're the son of Poseidon that you have to have the brain of a golden fish."
"Fuck you, Princess. The Underworld is literally under a building in Los Angeles, why can't the Labyrinth?" He scolded me, while I just flipped him off. So mature, I know.
