"Are you allergic to nail polish?" Was the first thing I said as I entered Thomas' room.

He was seated by his desk, playing games as always but this time on his PS4. The sound of the police sirens coming loudly from the GTA 5 he was playing. The boy flinched, getting the shot he was aiming wrong as I sat on his bed.

"What the fuck are you doing in my house?" He exclaimed, eyes wide going back and forth from me to the game.

"Your mom let me in, today is nail day with Annabeth. Are you allergic to any smell?" I asked again, leaving my bag of nail polish on the bed and opening his drawer to pickup some gold drachmas.

"No, I'm not. Yes, I let you use my room to paint your nails," He rolled his eyes, cursing a player that got in front of him.

"Thank you very much, I'll repay you someday." I started to set up the call, the windows were already open so I had to just create a prism to form the rainbow. I threw the golden drachma, saying my offering to the goddess and asking for Annabeth.

I smiled as I saw her image form in front of me, her hair tied back wearing a lilac hoodie while sitting on the floor with her back resting on the bed. Behind her was Gabriel, who was watching television laying on her bed with a hand caressing her hair.

"Blondie!" She smiled happily, making me smile.

"Annie, my love!"

"She's actually my love, but I'll let that pass." Gabriel joked, waving at me. "Hey, Maria!"

I rolled my eyes playfully, waving back at him. "How are my cuties doing?"

"Pretty fine, things are strangely calm but I guess after that battle he's taking time to rest." Annabeth said, starting to do her cuticles as I spread my things on the bed. Straight to the point she is.

I nodded my head. "What about you two, everything is fine?"

"Yep. Gabe took me on a date yesterday. We went to watch the new movie that I wanted to see, then we got ice cream and now he's here, doing nothing on my bed." My smile was growing on my face as she kept talking. "He gave me flowers, blondie!" She mocked a whisper and I giggled happily for her. It was so cute to see how happy she was and how in love they felt.

As we spent time talking about what we have been doing, I told her I have been designing some clothes, spending time with Aurora at home and how she was the cutest and smart little kid. I also told her how Hera has been sending peacocks in my head and the fact that I killed a stuffed animal. She laughed with the peacock information—I think Thomas did too but when questioned he said he was laughing from the game, also, he doesn't speak English—and the girl got really worried about what happened with Pudim.

"Seriously Maria, what is your father's problem? He forces you to live there but can't act like a good dad to you? I mean, my father doesn't force me into being here, I try to give chances to him, but he never got to this level..." She said angrily. Annabeth was protective of her friends, she didn't like seeing people mistreating us.

"I don't know, I just want to go home..."

We talked more about how Hera had put cows following Annabeth, "I swear, it's everywhere and at any time. It just appears on the floor when I least expect it! The other day was on the school floor, I had to wash my shoes in the bathroom sink."

Thomas snickered and I looked at him with an eyebrow raised. He shook his head and pointed to the game, which wasn't even playing for him to laugh.

I told Annabeth that I went out for the carnaval with Lucas and his friends, that my studies were going well. She told me she had been crazy with Daedalus's computer, which has so many ideas and plans that haven't even been started yet. She said that school was doing fine and sometimes she would visit camp.

"Oh my gods! Maria, did I tell you?" She said after gasping. I stopped putting on the red nail polish and looked at her.

"Tell me what?!" I tilted my head confused, eyes wide with her excitement.

"Your sister, Silena, is dating Beckendorf!" She smiled.

"Shut up!" I put my hand over my mouth.

"Are you telling the girl to shut up? How disrespectful." Thomas said, a teasing grin forming on his face.

"It's an expression, mané." I moved my hand dismissively at him. "I can't believe they are finally dating! When was this?"

"Beginning of January, they are so cute together. They are really in love." I smiled dreamily, sighing as I went back to my nail.

"Love..." My voice came out low.

"I was thinking..." Annabeth started, "about the prophecy I got." She didn't look shaken up like she did that day on the hill. "The last line was 'and lose a love to worse than death.' I don't know if this is it, but... were you liking Percy before that summer?"

I felt my face heating, gulping down, I looked away from her and back at my nails as I cleared my throat. "Why the question?"  I didn't even try to argue with her saying this in front of Gabriel, she probably shared it with him and I don't mind, I know I can trust them.

"I didn't choose Gabe to go on the quest because of this final line. I was scared I could lose him inside the Labyrinth, I didn't think deeply about who could possibly be, but I was assured that I didn't want to be about him." I nodded my head, understanding her side.

"But if you were starting to have feelings for Percy, then maybe this last line was about you two. Like you lost a love to worse than death, worse than death can only be Calypso. Right?"

It makes sense, I can see where she was going. "You might... you might be right." I said, pushing my glasses further on my face with the back of my hand. "But we cannot be trying to figure out prophecies, it will drive us insane, Annie. Maybe it means this, but maybe it can be another thing."

"Like?"

"I don't know, maybe the fact that Luke had given himself up to Kronos. You love Luke as your family, and lost him to worse than death, which was Kronos."

She looked kinda angry that I was going against what she was saying, thinking of that possibility made her uncomfortable but she only sighed it off. "He's better, you know."

I bit my lower lip, starting to clean around my nails. "He's been hanging out with Rachel," She stopped for a second, analyzing me for any reaction. I felt uncomfortable with the idea, but I cannot control him. I was hanging out with friends I made here and it's fair for him to hang out with someone too.

"That's good, the idea of him being sad was stuck in my mind, driving me crazy." I said.

"He still thinks about you, sometimes he asks me if I spoke to you or how you were doing." She added.

"I still think about him every day." I pursed my lips together.

We talked a little more, mumbling the songs that were playing in Annabeth's room when we had to call again since the time had reached its limit.

"So your birthday is coming up, blondie." I smiled, finishing the silver drawings on my nail.

"Yes, finally seventeen! I'm getting old like you." I joked and we laughed as she gave me the middle finger.

"My goal is to learn how to drive, maybe my father will let me, now that I'm here."

Annabeth nodded, "Let's hope so."
