🕊️

"Malia!" A little girl squealed as soon as I entered the apartment with Lucas. I kneeled down on the floor, opening my arms to hug her.

Aurora was the daughter of my father with Lucas's mom. I had talked to her sometimes through the calls between me and my father, which made her like me a lot. She had blonde hair like mine and dark eyes just like Lucas's and was little for a five years old.

She ran and jumped on my arms, giggling happily. "Let's play doll!"

"Aurora, let her rest first. She must be tired from the trip." A voice said. Looking up I saw Adriana. She was wearing short jeans with a white shirt, her brown hair up on a ponytail. She didn't look old, but you could see the wrinkles forming on her face. "Hello Maria, how are you?" She said as I stood up with Aurora in my arms.

"Could be better, but here I am." I smiled sarcastically and she kept staring at me.

Adriana hummed and looked down at her nails, "I'm going out now that you're here. Need to get my nails done... Lucas's in charge, obey him. If you know how to." My shoulders tensed, I knew what she was doing. When I had my conversation with Lucas it made sense in my mind that my father had told her about me, but decided to keep it hidden from the kids. So she knew about my father's opinion on what I do.

"I obey those who deserve to be obeyed. Now it's better you go, your nails really need to be done."

She raised an eyebrow at me and scoffed, picking the car keys Lucas had put on the center table in the living room. "Mommy will be back." She said to Aurora, who replied with an 'uhum'.

I breathed deeply when the front door closed, putting the girl on the floor. I analyzed the apartment. It was spacious, a brown couch in the living room facing the large TV on the white wall with a suspended wooden shelf underneath. It was full of books, some glassed sculptures, family pictures, a framed picture of my father's marriage, and in the far corner one of me, when I was four years old.

Behind the couch further to the back was the dining table, a yellow light directly above it on a pretty, small chandelier. Next to it on the floor were medium height white flower vases, full of orange lilies. Behind the table was the sliding glass door leading to the balcony. The curtains were open giving space for the sunlight light up the apartment.

On the right wall on the dinner area was a door leading to the kitchen, it was spacious enough for three people to be there at the same time. Next to the TV wall was a corridor leading to the rooms, probably.

"We only have three rooms, so you'll be sharing it with Aurora." The boy said.

"You're kidding, right?" I looked at him frowning.

"No. Sorry Maria, at least Caio put up a bed there for you." He pointed to the corridor, "The door with a picture of Sofia the first."

Really, why?

He didn't even bother to buy new sheets for the bed, it was literally My Little Pony patterned.

I left my suitcase on the corner of the room and threw myself on the bed. I was already missing my room, my beautiful and private room. I missed my Aunt and her happiness around the apartment. I missed my friends and you guys have no idea of how much I wanted to be with them.

When I told Annabeth that I was coming, we ended up crying all night in each other's arms. I wanted to call her, spend the rest of the day talking to her, but I wasn't sure if she was busy or not.

🕊️

I fell asleep. I guess I was so tired that I didn't even change my clothes. I woke up to loud voices outside the room, laughing and talking about things I didn't catch a word. I sat up on the bed, looking around the dark room full of butterflies on the ceiling and dolls on the floor.
