"I have the feeling that you two are not listening to my story."

I popped my head up. "I am. Crazy magician. Ripping up dollars."

"Yeah, and so he couldn't put the twenty back together, so he payed me back in quarters," Lorelai ended.

"Nice story," Rory commented, yawning.

"Girl, you have to wake up," I said, shaking my sister my her shoulders.

Lorelai gasped. "One, two, three?"

Rory basically left out of her seat. "Yeah!"

I smiled and the three of us turned to the window. One, two, three was a game Lorelai and Rory had come up with before my time. Basically you can pass the first two people that go past the diner, but the third is automatically yours. It's a game with no thought put into it.

"What is this?" Luke asked, coming up behind me as Lorelai and Rory watched out the window.

"One, two, three," I explained. When Luke gave me a confused look, I continued to explain. "It—."

"Never mind. I don't want to know."

"Lucy, you play," Rory nagged, grabbing my arm.

I rolled my eyes. "Fine."

The first: A random boy from my school. "Pass."

"Why?" My mother asked. "He looks like your type."

"Well maybe my type has changed."

Second: Taylor. My mom and sister broke out in laughter, which I echoed. "Pass."

"You missed out on a prime opportunity!" Lorelai chuckled.

I looked back at the window as my automatic soulmate passed by. My heart immediately dropped.

Rory put her hand on mine, as I turned back at my food.

Leo looked quickly at the window, before continuing toward the school.

"I'll bring some pancakes out," Luke said, sympathetically. I didn't know he was still there and I was suddenly embarrassed.

I looked at Lorelai who gave me a soft smile.

I quickly look out the window as Leo disappeared into the school.

When I walked into the school building, everyone was looking at me. I saw Lane and quickly walked over to her, avoiding eye contact with anyone else.

"What's going on?" I whispered. Lane slammed her locker shut and turned around.

"You didn't hear?" She asked. I shook my head.

Lane quickly looked around before turning back to me.

"Leo started a rumor about you being a crazy girl who yelled at him." I froze. A million fleeting emotions ran through me. I wouldn't be surprised if Leo started a rumor, but that didn't seem like him. He wouldn't hurt anyone on purpose. Even though he had cheated on me, I knew it was on purpose. I knew he didn't want to hurt me.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and croaked, "thanks", to Lane.

"Sorry," she said. I smiled and walked away to class.

It wasn't a lie. I had yelled at Leo, but I bet he—or whoever started the rumor—tailored it so it seemed like I was some psycho chick who had just started screaming at him.

I ran into my first class. As everyone was sitting down everyone's eyes followed my movements. I felt uncomfortable.

"That's her. Leo said that she screamed at him for no reason," I heard someone behind me say.
