Song of Autumn

Oh autumn, winter is grey and lonely where you are,
Cause spring is long gone.
Oh autumn, it's been a long while I was waiting,
Cause monsoon had a change of mind.

Oh autumn, it'd be a relief to see you,
Cause it's been long since summer left me breathless.

Autumn, like your color brown,
I'm temporarily crimson, wine, maroon, and red.
I was blue, green, yellow when I was a child—
Now I'm just vintage.

They say it's aesthetic,
Yet it is so empty, lost in daydreams and wonders,
So alone in the painful ruptures.

Oh autumn, why do I seek peace in thy arms?
Oh autumn, why did I love you so?
Cause you were never hope,
You were always the one to bring over more scars, though.

Then what's my reason to love you?
What's my reason to be wanting you?
What's my reason to mention you in my poetry, stories, fantasies, and diaries?

Oh autumn, it's been a long time since I sang your song,
Cause lately, I've been praying to God
To send you to me.

As if being a faithless broker,
I'm asking for treasure.
Oh autumn, wait for me—
Oh autumn, stay good to me.
