Lullabies of Seasons

Autumn had been my season since I've grown,
Cause I've never been afraid of falling.
Letting go had become my profession,
Leaving or being left was my ritual.

Autumn had been my favorite,
Cause it taught the lesson of temporariness,
Which taught me tenderness towards limited time.

Every time someone barges in my door,
I look towards it as autumn—
Cause it's going to leave sooner than it appears.

Autumn made me learn to be enough,
That's why wanting and to be wanted had been enough.
Never so close, never so far,
Just a game between two playing jars.

Never want to be tied with any rope,
That's why autumn taught me the lesson with a falling leaf,
Like a falling hope.

Cause it'd been a season of vintage maple,
Since I chose this person to be the one I've become.
Cause it's forever autumn,
No matter whichever season might come.
