Hope POV:

Explaining to a teenager that they will become a werewolf if they kill someone, is much easier when they are stoned. Once our heads were clearer we went into detail on what that meant and what else was out there. Knowing that his friend was a vampire was a bit of a shock. Now that he knew things, I gave him a necklace to protect him.

"Listen Hope, I like you and all but I didn't know we were in the giving each other jewelry phase." He joked. "Ha ha wear this to protect you, genius." I told him, throwing it at his chest. "Be careful not to fight anyone, there is a vampire who will force you to turn. Be on your guard for people you know getting aggressive out of no where." I warned.

"I could teach you how to block attacks without going on the offensive. I have some military experience." Stefan said. "What war did you fight in?" Tyler asked. "World War II. Lost a lot of good men back then." He responded. We all remained silent for a moment. "Maybe I could join, I used to be head of defense for my school." I added. "That would be great." Stefan said.

Damon had settled down, not killing people in town, feeding either from blood bags or going out of town to 'snatch, eat, erase'. His mood had elevated, having been dating Carol Lockwood. She had filed for divorce, but proceedings would happen at a later date.

Miss Mystic Falls was coming up soon, Elena was still pining for Stefan. Caroline still had feelings for him, now that he wasn't under magical influence he started noticing her more. He had offered to be her Escort. Matt had taken Elena much to her disappointment. Caroline won, no shockers there. After the ceremony we all went to the Grill to cheer her on, even Elena was invited.

She hasn't specifically done anything to annoy us, besides the pining. She is just so wretchedly boring. Damon had compelled some bottle service, I would be making sure the human members of our group got home safe with Stefan. With the vampires on the loose, it's better to travel with them in pairs.

Elena had been searching for her birth mother, Jenna gave her some info but she didn't think it was a good idea to search her out. She had found a Trudie Peterson who spoke of an Isobel Flemming. Trudie sent her back on her way home to Mystic Falls. Elena didn't know that Trudie was killed after she had left.

Freya had been watching Elena from afar. She had spotted a compelled man tailing her. The man had threatened Elena before stepping into traffic, Freya drove her home. Neither of us could bother to comfort her, we didn't like the female Doppelgängers.

Caroline and Bonnie had been there to help her through seeing someone kill themself in front of her. Jeremy had gotten both taller and just bigger in general. He's starting to look like a proper weightlifter, when Elena gets too controlling he goes to the gym or for a run with me.

Bonnie and I had been practicing more magic together, I think that Caroline might be picking up some of it. She mutters the phrases, sometimes I can feel more magic in the circle. When we are out in public and something upsets her, it gets windy and sometimes stormy. When her attitude changes the weather does too. I don't know how it will be affected when she becomes a vampire.

I had to compel Elena to be okay with the knowledge of vampires before meeting her mother. Alaric was attacked by his wife two nights ago. Isobel had arrived, with her lackeys by her side. We were in the Grill when she tried to corner Elena. They had their whole moment, Elena's memory of her real mother being kept alive blah blah blah.

Even though everyone wants her because she looks like Katherine doesn't make her interesting like Katherine. Can't wait for the rest of my family to show up. Isobel demanded the Gilbert device from Elena, who told her multiple times that she didn't have it. "If you don't give me what I want, I'll kill Jeremy and Jenna." She told her. "If you touch Jeremy, I'll cause you pain worse than you could ever fathom." Stefan told her heatedly.

"We will all take turns in your torture if you hurt anyone we care about." I told her, breaking every finger in her hand. "Okay, okay, I got it!" She said yanking her hand back. "Go do your duties and leave." I compelled her. She sped out of the Grill, her human companions walking after her.

I had followed her back to the house she was staying in. I'll be coming back soon. I found John Gilbert to the Gilbert house, he was in the kitchen with Jeremy. He was explaining vampires and how terrible they were, Jeremy just nodded along wanting the conversation to end. I watched in silence as John pulled out White Oak Ash and the Silver Daggers Aunt Bek's talked about. I held my hands out and both items shot to me.

"Hey! Those don't belong to you!" He shouted trying to rush to get them, I quickly stuffed them in my bag, rushing around the other side of the counter. Jeremy intercepted his Uncle from catching me. Once the items were away I flung my arm out. "AD SONUM!" He dropped like a bag of bricks. We both heard the crack when his head hit the floor. Jeremy helped me move him, when we saw the floor where his head was we saw a dent in the wood.

"Damn what is his head made out of, metal?" Jeremy said. I burst out laughing dropping John again. "Oh shit." Jeremy started laughing when we saw another dent in the floor. We finally got him to the couch, I took the memory of me taking the Dagger and Ash. I woke him up, he jumped up startled. "Easy big guy, you slipped in the kitchen on a wet floor. Look what your head did." I told him pointing to the floor.

He groaned in pain, the effects of falling finally hitting him. "My head did that?" He asked. "Yeah, we don't even know what happened. Jeremy answered the door and you were on the floor. We cleaned up the spill while you were out." I answered. "Thanks I'm usually not this clumsy." He said.

"You should probably see a doctor." Jeremy told him. "Not a bad idea." He responded heading out the door. "Not bad, Hope. Solid cover, why did you take the Dagger and Ash?" He asked. "It's used against my family. Mostly by my father but it seems he lost this one. But knowing him, he didn't lose it he probably had a plan with this." I told him.

2 days later

The Founder's Day had finally arrived, the obnoxious Gilbert device would be going off effecting everyone. I had told Stefan and Damon to stay home. Caroline had to be in the car with Tyler and Matt, that way Katherine will change her. I had placed a block on my ears, protecting me from the effects of the device.

"Tyler take Caroline and Matt home. Leave, NOW!" I told him forcefully. Without questions he got up and grabbed his friends heading out. Carol was standing beside Richard for appearances, I could see the vampires roaming through the crowds. The cops looking around, not knowing who to target yet.

All of a sudden about ten people dropped to the ground, including Richard Lockwood. The cops shot him and all the vampires up with vervain, bringing them to the Gilbert building basement. Knowing that none of my friends had been involved, I let the abusive Lockwood burn. I could hear a car crash up the road, I quickly found the device and smashed it ending the potential pain.

I made my way to the back of the Grill before speeding off to the car crash. I called Damon to help me get everyone to the hospital. This time, there was a collision, Tyler accidentally crashed into a drunk driver. He was healing fine due to his new werewolf traits, I'll calm him down later. Right now my priority is Caroline, she was unconscious when I found her.

I rushed her to the hospital, compelling doctors to work on her first. When she came out, everyone who cared about her was in the waiting room. The doctor shared the results with Liz, everyone with supernatural hearing could hear what he said. Liz relayed the information to us anyway.

I went into her room, she was still unconscious. I bit into my wrist and forced her to drink. I took off her necklace, not wanting it to interfere when Katherine comes. I went back out and told everyone that knew, basically everyone except Matt, that Caroline would be fine.
