Hope POV:

We had returned home after several months traveling finding wolf packs. I had instructed Elijah and Freya to have sets of werewolf mansions built, we can't all live in one place. Once they were constructed, Freya and I put the same protections on them that we did on ours.

There was about 175 hybrids with us. They were rather happy with their living situations. Never having experienced such grandiosity. Freya was exceptionally happy to have Keelin back in her life, and stronger than ever. The pair had decided to move back to New Orleans, Finn and Sage would be joining them.

Henrik and Dahlia had waited to make their way to us, until after the family was settled. It seemed that Finn didn't believe that Henrik was alive, he was quite shocked at meeting Dahlia as well. They left knowing that the witches were well protected. Dahlia and Henrik had grown quite close with my witches.

It was heartwarming seeing the reunion between Henrik and the rest of his siblings in Mystic Falls, Dad especially. I had acquired quite a bit of Bennett blood, knowing I would need it for my travels. Slater had sent me an Ascendant in the mail, it was old, could be from 1903. I had heard that there were more, I would need to explore them later.

While Dahlia got to know her niece and nephews, I traveled to Whitmore with Henrik. "How was it being with your siblings again?" I asked. "Better than I imagined. Having them in my life is everything I ever wanted." He answered. We walked the halls of the hospital, looking for Josette Laughlin.

"She most likely doesn't have magic but she isn't able to be compelled. You'll have to influence her." Henrik said once we spotted her. He stayed back a couple feet while I approached her. "Hello are you Dr. Josette Laughlin?" I asked trying to keep her guard down. "Yes I am, how can I help you?" She asked, putting paperwork together.

"I need a consultation and was recommended by Doctors in the West to come here. My Cousin and I have come a long way. I have scans for you to see, if you're interested?" I offered pulling out a medical file. "Absolutely, come with me to my office." She said taking my scans. Once Henrik and I had sat, she was looking over the scans.

"I don't see anything, maybe it's too small to see." She said looking at the scans. "That would be because there's nothing wrong." I told her crossing my legs. "Then why am I here?" She asked taking a seat. "I wanted to talk to you in private on supernatural occurrences. I need the 1994 Ascendant." Before I could continue she cut me off.

"NO! KAI CANNOT BE RELEASED!" She yelled slamming her hands on her desk. Once her hands were down I kept them pinned with magic. "Then I'll just have to look for it." I said walking around her desk to stand behind her. I put my hands on the sides of her head, searching her memories for the Ascendant. "There it is." I said once I knew the location. I used my magic to make her sit, keeping her hands on the desk.

"Kai will be released, but we will control him. If you give him your magic, without doing the merge you can both be free. I'll even help your younger siblings, I need the location of your family home." I told her, influencing her with my magic. I could see the memories giving her more fight than others have. She even started sweating from fighting my magic.

She took a deep breath, "Okay, fine. Just don't let him hurt us anymore." She said, releasing the ache she was giving herself from fighting my magic. "Isn't that so much better, why fight when you know you can't win." Henrik said, taking the Ascendant and the coin that held Jo's magic. "You won't see him again, you will be safe." I assured her as we left.

"That could have gone a lot worse." I told Henrik, "Especially if she had her magic." He responded. "Let's head back to Mystic Falls, we need to take some extra people with us." I said as we got in the car. "Who all are we taking?" He asked. "I'm thinking we take Dahlia, the Salvatore brothers, Kol and Dad, what do you think?" I asked. "I think that will be enough." He said nodding.

3 hours later

"Is everyone ready to go?" Henrik asked our group. We decided to grab Kai first. We were in the fields, under the stars. Only Henrik and I would be going to the 1994 prison world. Everyone would be watching our stuff until we returned.

We landed in the center of the city. I pulled a map and Jo's coin out of my backpack. I had Henrik bleed over the map to create a trail. It led to the shopping center. I put my hand it the air, focusing my intent on having the Ascendant to escape. "He's going to be pissed at that." I told Henrik. We walked into the shop, listening for his heartbeat. I sealed the doors, keeping him in with us.

"Kai Parker, we are here to free you. Quit with any bullshit plans you have and step out where we can see you. You can't get out until we let you, might as well introduce yourself." I said loud enough for him to hear me. He came out brandishing knives, "How are you here and who are you?" He asked pointing the knives at us. "You probably haven't heard of us, we are Mikaelson's." I said offering Henrik my hand, having him show Kai that he siphons magic like him.

He put his knives back at his side. "I have your Ascendant, I was the one who took it. I have the means to get us out of here. But there will be rules, we don't take kindly to those who disobey." I told him, showing the Ascendant. I could see the rage building in his eyes. I rushed in front of him. He stuck me with his blades, I bled but barely felt anything.

I smacked him across the face, forcing him to sit. "Now that you got that out of your system, if you want freedom, you'll be joining his coven." I said pointing at Henrik. Henrik came over, "Do you want magic of your own?" He asked Kai. "Almost as much as I want freedom from this prison world." He responded.

"I can give you both. What do you say? A little loyalty for freedom, sounds like a fair trade yeah?" Henrik continued, sitting in front of him. "We know how awful your father caused your family to treat you, but you can't fault your siblings for your dad's treatment though." I told him. He nodded looking down, dropping his blades.

"Join us and live a life you haven't dreamed of." I told him offering Jo's coin. As he siphoned it he gasped smiling feeling the power wash over him. "Come with us. We have work to do, we are freeing more Heretics but we have to leave now." Henrik said, gesturing for us to all leave. Kai nodded, "I've been stuck here for almost two decades, I'm ready to leave. Do pork rinds still exist?" He asked balling his fists in hope in front of him.

"Yes pork rinds exist." I told him, gently pushing him by his back. We went out into the field, taking each other's hands after pouring Bennett blood on it. We were sucked into the air by a bright white light. The three of us landed roughly in the field by our family. "Time for you to be a Heretic." Henrik said. He pulled a cup out of his bag and bled into it. "Oh yay, yummy iron." He said gagging it down. I quickly snapped his neck, pulling out a fresh shirt for myself.

We waited for an hour, making outdoor furniture for the wait. Kai woke with a gasp, I had put sunglasses on him so the sun wouldn't be so awful. Henrik had given him his flask, we could all see how much Kai loved generating his own power. Henrik compelled him as we compel all our new half-vampires. We can't risk dissenters.
