Hope POV:

I had put off traveling to Mystic falls for two months, helping Dahlia and Freya adjust to the 21st century. Also with repairing their relationship. Dahlia decided to stay and help protect Henrik and my Coven.

I called one final meeting before actually leaving, joining Freya and Dahlia to our Coven. The magic was raw and tantalizing; how Freya and Dahlia could cope with all the magic coursing in their veins was beyond me. Once they were both accustomed to the times, and had been explained of how Henrik and I came to be in this world, Freya chose to come with me.

I bought us a mansion deep in the woods, having Freya sign for it, kept us protected from nosy vampires. We put protection spells on it, stopping humans from destroying the house with pesky human tools. Freya was excited at the prospect of meeting her family again. I had to warn her that many were just as bad as Dahlia.

We reacquainted ourselves with the lands. Going to town events, introducing ourselves as the Marshall Women. They thought that she was a strong woman taking in her niece. We let them think what they will. I was short enough to blend in with the high school kids, so I tried to integrate myself.

Caroline was the one to greet me first. Meeting her as a young human girl was strange. I'll get to see her mature, hopefully they all will. The Saltzman twins were always saying how lovely their Aunt Elena was but Dad always said she was a pain in the ass. I found Stefan lurking from afar, what a creep.

When I went home that day I showed Freya the picture I had taken of him. Warning her that if he ever comes to the door to knock him out and chain him in the basement. Henrik called me, letting me know that Theo was coming to stay. I prepared a room for him, and made a ring to protect Freya from our world.

Stefan had saved Elena from the crash, now comes the depression and extra stalking. Damon will show up in two or three months. Freya had been getting to know the major families in the area. She had gotten to know the Gilbert's before they passed, she was not sad but relieved when they died.

At night Freya and I burned the Wickery Bridge and its sign. We collected the ashes and flushed them away. The Lockwood father is a narcissistic, awful person. He has no idea the effects his beatings are having on his son. He also doesn't know that I compelled Tyler to treat people better than his father. Comparing him to his father was a real trigger point for him, he cried through the compulsion. Knowing that is how people saw him broke him deep inside.

Zach had been unsurprisingly boring, living the human life Stefan would have wanted. He tried to suss Freya out, seeing if she was in the know about vampires. She was blunt with him, pulling vervain from her pocket. Enough was said.

There was a knock on our door, I was preparing lunch for Freya and Theo when I saw her dragging in a body from the front door. "Theo, all it needs is to be plated, help me out would you please?" I asked. "No problem, I'm starving." He said finishing up the food.

I set Stefan up in his chair, I knew he was weak from only feeding on animals. He wasn't as bad as Damon but he still hurt my Aunt Rebekah and broke Dad's heart. There will be punishment for that. Dad often showed mercy when none should have been afforded.

"There is a ripper beneath your surface, embrace it and you will be in control. Stop feeling so sorry for yourself all the time. Fix things with your brother. When you are told to remember, you will side with the Mikaelson family or burn yourself to ashes in the sun." I compelled him. He won't remember our faces, the name Mikaelson or coming to our door. He'll forever remember the hurt and feel the effects of my compulsion though.

3 months later

School was spectacularly boring, watching Stefan work his way into their lives. He should have gone about it the way I did, integrate and assess. Not stalk from the sidelines. Seeing them watch each other, flirting with their eyes. God it makes me sick.

One day during gym, the boys had been playing basketball while the girls were running suicides; Tyler nailed Elena with the basketball causing her to hit her face on the floor. I rushed to help her, providing tissues. What she didn't know was that the tissues were just vials in a different shape. As the blood filled the tissue I knew I would have enough to call out to Katherine.

I took her to the nurse, vanishing the tissues. I then went back to class like nothing happened. Stefan was playing the game, unbothered by the blood on the floor. Bonnie looked warily at Stefan a lot, constantly watching him. I had to suppress my vampire and werewolf side when around her, forcing my witchy nature to its surface.

She was decent at reading people and I can't have her knowing the truth yet. "I know what it is Bonnie." I told her. She was shocked that I was talking to her, oblivious to the fact I had walked up to her. "Oh yeah, what's that?" She said half smiling. "He's a bloodsucking vampire, how else would he have the perfect hero hair." I said half joking. She laughed it off, continuing with her running.

I could feel Stefan watching me after that comment. Once class was over I passed him a note reading 'meet me in the town square' as I headed to art. I'll either discuss some things or compel the memory away, what to do what to do.

4 hours later

After an exhausting day dealing with teenagers, I have to deal with a grumpy vampire. "You know?" Was the first thing he said to me. "Good to see you too, Stef." I respond, waiting for him to sit. "Nice to see you, Hope." He said sarcastically as he sat.

"Yes I know, I'm not here to cause you problems. But there are things that will happen, you have a spell that's been placed in your families DNA. You and Katherine were drawn together, you and Elena are drawn together. It's just magic that can be fixed." I told him.

"There are supernatural creatures called Doppelgängers, Katherine is one, so is Elena and so are you. There's a human Tom Avery who is a doppelgänger of yours. It's a terribly long story, I won't bore you with the details. You and Damon thought that Katherine was trapped in the tomb, you were wrong. George Lockwood freed her in exchange for a moonstone. That is something I need." I continued.

I sent Henrik a text to expect Stefan Salvatore, he will need a Traveler spell siphoned off him, it's likely that during the siphoning it will strip Dad's compulsion. Henrik could sense my magic, my compulsion he would know when to stop. "I need you to travel to Bourbon Street, in New Orleans. There is a man named Henrik Marshall my cousin, he will remove the spell, you may learn some things about yourself. Return here when he's done, I'll wait for you here in Mystic Falls." I said, writing the address down.

He took the note hesitantly, "It's not going to bite you. I can assure you that your precious Elena will be safe, safe from others and safe from Damon." I told him. He chuckled a little, "Don't underestimate Damon, he can be vicious." He warned me. I nodded not saying anything.
