Hope POV:

Dad and Jackson worked together on getting many of the untriggered teens and younger children into schools. Creating safe after school programs for supernatural families. The Bayou was almost empty, the only ones that chose to stay were more experienced wolves. They chose to help any new-comers who found their way out there. Elijah and Mom had reconnected, finalizing her decision on who she really loved.

Our family is complicated and bloody but I wouldn't choose anyone else. I had been working with Kai and Kol on making sun protected shopping centers for the night walkers to get to experience the light without burning. Coffee shops, restaurants, malls, all easily capable of being built with proper funding. There had been more police activity in the popular streets, leading the vampires, hybrids and heretics to feed either in doors or in the Compound.

Elijah and Dad had been receiving messages from their sires, letting them know that the Doppelgänger was searching for a way to become a vampire. Elijah left the matter to Dad and me, we decided to take a small trip back to Mystic Falls. Elijah would be taking Mom on a tour of the world, flying private jets, driven in limousines, dining and living like royalty.

I had let Jeremy know that we would not be risking Elena becoming a vampire, the girl was far too controlling over his life. Caroline and Bonnie were indifferent to Elena at this point. Both knowing that had she not been involved in their lives, neither of them would most likely be involved in the supernatural. Stefan was un-phased at hearing news about Elena. Damon had been whoring his way through the tourists of New Orleans.

Arriving back in Mystic Falls felt off, everything and everyone felt off. I texted the twins not to follow me here, I could feel magic radiating from the area. I pulled out my flask, handing one to Dad, gulping as much as we could down before continuing on our search. I reached into my bag pulling out sheathed knives for Dad, knowing his affinity for small blades. We stopped on the side walk watching a man angrily walk down the street with a tire iron, about a hundred yards away.

"VAMPIRES!" He bellowed before smashing a cars window then charging at us. "He seems super mentally stable doesn't he." Dad said, sitting back on his heals while waiting for the charging man to actually get closer. The man let out a battle cry as he neared us, I caught him with a vicious kick to his knee. Forcing him to the ground with all his built up speed. "That couldn't have been fun." I said condescendingly. The man laid on the ground, turning quickly throwing wooden stakes coated in vervain at us.

His aim must have been a little off, the blunt end of the stakes bouncing off of us. Dad picked up his new weapon, "It's not nice to throw things at strangers." He told him, stabbing the top of the man's foot. I put mine through the top of the opposite leg, breaking the end of it leaving it to splinter. "Why are you after us?" I compelled the man, grabbing him by his shirts collar. All of a sudden his eyes, nose and ears started pouring blood.

I dropped him, leaving him to bleed out. "I've never seen anyone respond to compulsion like that." I told Dad. "Neither have I. I've seen a lot of things, but never that." He responded. The body stood up with glowing golden eyes, "My, my, my. So curious about me, are we?" A different voice spoke from the body. "Who are you?" Dad asked stepping forward. "Allow me." The voice said, then the hands went toward the scalp, ripping the face off.

In a quick motion, it wasn't just a new face revealed, it was an entirely new person, or being. "I am Desire. You see, you've put my twin in a rather, tight spot. I've come to collect on her end." The flamboyant man said walking our way. Just as Dad was about to swing one of his knives at Desire, he disappeared entirely. "We need to get to somewhere safe." I told Dad, taking his arm and rushing to our Mystic Falls house. I placed us in a large circle, laying down forcing myself asleep.

"What do you need Ms. Mikaelson, as you know I'm quite busy." King Morpheus said, flipping through a book. "Desire has done something to Mystic Falls, my father and I had been in town for half an hour before a human attacked us and then took your brother's form. As my Dad swung at him, he disappeared. I would be very grateful for your assistance." I told him, feeling him enter my mind and seeing what I was talking about.

"Desire of the Endless has caused one too many problems in the multitude of realms. Death will hear about this later." Morpheus said, placing one hand on my shoulder and using his other hand to bring us back to the waking world. "And who is this, another God?" Dad asked sarcastically. "Not a God, this is the brother of Death." I told him, smirking at his reaction. "We don't have much time, I am Dream, I control and protect all the sleeping minds in all the worlds." King Morpheus told him, trying to brush past how massively powerful and important he is.

After breaking the circle, Dream was a tepping into the darkness, pulling out a Ruby and a Helmet. Putting on his oddly shaped Helmet, he breathed a sigh of relief. "We must go before Desire pollutes anymore people of this world." Dream said, voice echoing deeply from the Helmet. "Sorry, can you see in that?" I asked. "I see everything in my Helm, in the waking world, I see people's Day Dreams." He answered, leading us out of the house.

There were several people getting rather frisky in the streets, against cars, buildings, trees. If the people weren't having sex, they were smashing things in a frenzied rage. Some of the raging ones were covered in blood and holding weapons, growling and yelling like they were feral in battle. Dream pulled out a small, leather pouch, reaching in and tossing its contents in the air towards the raving crowds. Everyone collapsed where they were, and it was finally quiet again.

"Again, I've seen a lot of things, but this probably takes the cake." Dad said, looking around confused. We walked around, ensuring that the Doppelgänger wasn't in the crowd. Thankfully Desire hadn't brought children or teenagers into this fiasco, leaving the Doppelgänger at home. Suddenly all the once sleeping bodies sat straight up. "Brother dear, you should know not to mess with my affairs." Desire spoke through each of the people.

"And you should know, Brother, that this is not what your role is. You are hurting the people you are supposed to be minding and protecting." Dream echoed through his Helm. Holding up his Ruby necklace, letting it dangle in the air, all the people started disintegrating. "Fear not, they will be waking in their beds unharmed and not remembering current events." Dream told us as Desire yelled in anguish.

The air grew thick, buzzing with electricity when a booming shout and crack of golden lightning delivered Desire in all his horrific glory. The skinny, feminine looking man bore blood red armor, looked like he stepped out of a BDSM filming set. "Dream, you will finally pay for what you've done to me?" Desire said, his tail flicking behind him. "What exactly, do you think I've done to you?" Dream drawled out, each of them circling each other.

"You have taken what's right fully mine, the title of second strongest in our family." Desire said. Dream chuckled sarcastically as understanding washed over him. "You have been vying for me, because of how the rest of our siblings see us, it's not my fault that I am simply more powerful than you." Dream told him. Desire threw a blade he summoned, but it was quickly deflected by one of Dad's. "DESIRE!" Dream boomed through his Helm, holding the Ruby up, forcing Desire to gaze at it.

"NO! NO! NO, NAAA-" Desire cried out as he was  sucked into the Ruby. "What happens to him now?" Dad asked stepping forward. "He will wake in The Dreaming, where Death and I will be punishing him." Dream said, putting his Ruby away and pulling off his Helmet. "You've done me a great service, drawing my attention to the problem Desire created." Dream told us, shaking our hands before disappearing. "Back home?" I asked, looking at Dad. "Thought you'd never ask." Dad replied smiling.
