Hope POV:

The twins and I were back out in the forest. "What is the last thing you remember from our world?" I asked them. "The asteroid." They said at the same time. "After we died, this is no joke I assure you, I woke up in Death's waiting room. Death is a woman, she and her brother Dream worked to create a new timeline, a new world in the past essentially. We get to live without the fear of an impending asteroid destroying us. They gave me my Uncle Henrik back he's like you, he's an Original Heretic. Henrik and I have made a mockery of the original timeline." I told them as we waited for the right time to start the spell.

"Okay I'm going to skip over Death and Dream, they gave you Henrik?" Lizzie said, trying to grasp what I was telling her. "Yeah, she made him a little older, but it's definitely him. There is so much to tell you, it would be easier for you to learn as you go and ask questions when confused." I said bluntly. Suddenly the Ascendant started ticking, I poured the Bennett blood over it and we were sucked into the bright light once again.

We all landed gracelessly, brushing ourselves off as we stood up. I gave both of them a hug in celebration of freeing them. "Where are we, also what year is it?" Lizzie asked looking around. "We are in the Bayou out of the French Quarter of Louisiana. It's 2011, so drop any hopes for current fashion trends. I'll lead the way." I responded. I carried Josie and Lizzie followed.

It was about fifteen minutes later that we stopped, just a couple blocks from the Compound. "All the mansions on this street are for our people. These are the hybrid houses, some are mine, most are Dad's." I started but was cut off. "Wait your family knows who you are and everything else?" Josie asked putting her hand on my wrist stopping me from walking forward.

"They know most everything, I kept most of the memories of my life after my parents and Uncle Elijah died to myself. They didn't need to see what I have been through, I think that they will really like the both of you." I said mostly looking at Lizzie. We continued walking and Josie removed her hand.

"These mansions are for the Heretics, currently governed by Henrik. We saved the Heretics from 1903 and the 1994 prison worlds. Kai is a heretic but he won't kill either of you. Josette Laughlin, Olivia and Lucas Parker are alive. Olivia and Lucas are vampires, choosing to stay together over keeping their magic and potentially losing their twin." I told them, suddenly Kai walked out.

"Joanie, Linda. How good to see you! I'm just kidding, it is nice to see you Josie and Lizzie." Kai said offering his hand. The girls looked my way, I nodded and they each shook his hand. "It's very weird seeing you again Uncle Kai. Hopefully this time things will be more pleasant." Josie said. "I can guarantee that they will be for all of us." He responded nodding his head. Josie and Lizzie stood a little taller, feeling a bit more confident.

"Where are you off to Kai?" I asked, now that introductions are over. "Just to the Compound, Kol and I have been working on creating offensive spells for the witches. Stefan and Valerie are sickeningly sweet in there, you know how uncomfortable that makes me." He responded, gesturing back to the house. "Stefan is alive?" Lizzie asked. "Oh yeah, much less boring than he once was. I fixed that, he's also not a ripper anymore." I responded.

The four of us continued down Bourbon Street, a night walker snagged Josie from behind taking her into an alley. Kai and I sped to her aid, I slammed into the vampire looming over her. Sending him flying several feet away. Kai pulled a knife from his belt, cutting into his target. Severing all the major arteries with speed, the blood soaked, barely conscious night walker looked up at Kai as he drove his hand through his chest.

Ending the vampires life swiftly, I waved a hand over Kai, vanishing the mess he made. I then pulled Josie to her feet, "Are you alright?" I asked. She grabbed onto my hand, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. I felt her siphon from me being used to the feeling, I felt my eyes droop a little.

She quit siphoning and opened her eyes. I pulled out my flask taking deep gulps waking myself back up. "Sorry about that, I felt a little weak. The boost made me feel better." She said tapping my hand. I smirked and nodded. Lizzie stood on her other side and Kai walked behind us ensuring what happened moments ago wouldn't occur again.

We finally reached the Compound, the party hadn't started yet so I quickly rushed Josie upstairs to our shared living room. Only those who have been invited by a Mikaelson witch can enter. Dad and his siblings sped into the room, "Good to see you Kai, Hope who are these girls you brought with you?" Dad asked.

Mikael, and Dahlia entered seeing the divide in the room. "Everyone, this is Josie and Lizzie Saltzman, nieces to Kai. I have just come back with them from a third prison world. They come from my timeline, something must have protected them and sent them here." I told my family. Josie waved awkwardly, smiling yet clearly uncomfortable. "Well this is awkward, Kol let's go." Kai said gently smacking Kol on the back.

I watched as my family lowered their guard looking at each other as they did. Dad was first to introduce himself. "Any friend of Hope is welcomed here with open arms." He told them spreading his arms in gesture. After seeing there was no threat most everyone returned to what they were doing. Rebekah lingered in the room, smirking at me. Once I had rooms secured and protected for the girls, I pulled out clothes from our generation for each of them. I left them to get comfortable, going to talk to Rebekah.

"I saw you looking at me earlier, spill it." I told her not wanting the girls to hear our conversation. "Those were the girls we spoke of earlier aren't they?" She asked smugly. "Yes." I responded short and to the point. " Do you plan on telling her you like her?" She asked getting loud. "Yes I plan on telling her. But this is their first day out of the prison world, I can't push it. Please lower your voice." I responded.

"Does it not feel like fate that the day you open up about the girl you've been mourning for years; is suddenly in a prison world where you can free her and her sister?" She asked, getting louder as she went. "I wouldn't say fate, but it certainly is a coincidence. Losing them, losing Lizzie destroyed me. I won't let it happen again, but you keep the glances and snarky comments between us." I told her trying to stay as quiet as I could. She gave me a tight hug, "When you love someone, you don't allow anything to get in the way." She said, then kissed me on the cheek.

Lizzie POV:

After having a brief hot shower, I left my room searching for Hope. I was walking around the maze she calls her home when I heard her Aunt Rebekah speaking rather loudly. I hid behind a wall, trying to keep my heart beat calm, listening to the conversation. "Does it not feel like fate that the day you open up about the girl you've been mourning for years; is suddenly in a prison world where you can free her and her sister?" Rebekah asked.

I knew it had been four years for Hope but I didn't imagine she would mourn us all that much. Josie and I caused her a lot of pain for such a long time. Even if we left things on good terms, there was a lot of baggage between the three of us. I heard Hope take a deep breath gathering herself.

"I wouldn't say fate, but is certainly a coincidence. Losing them, losing Josie destroyed me. I won't let it happen again, but you keep the glances and snarky comments between us." Hope responded sternly. She seems committed to her promise. "When you love someone, you don't allow anything to get in the way." Rebekah said and left her standing there.

There is no way that Rebekah was talking about me, she's been here for years. I'm sure she has found somebody that loves her. I waited a moment, not hearing Hope move. I rounded the corner finding her facing away from me. I reached out and gently grabbed her shoulder. She gasped looking my way, "Hey Josie, what's up?" She asked wiping her cheeks.

"Well once upon a time you invited me to New Orleans and you promised me the best Beignets in the country. I'm here to see you fulfill that promise." I told her taking her arm. She laughed, placing her hand on top of mine, "Follow me then, Ms. Saltzman." She responded, leading me out of the Compound.
