Hope POV:
I had turned a select few werewolves, Tyler, Theo, and Mason. We would be heading into the Appalachian Mountains together with Dad, Stefan and Damon. Carol had called things off with Damon, the age gap was a problem with the people and she couldn't have that.
Rose had resurfaced, coming to Mystic Falls. I had insisted on meeting Slater with her and Damon. We drove into Richmond to meet him at his coffee shop. Rose introduced us to Slater, "Damon Salvatore turned 1864, Mystic Falls by Katherine Pierce aka Katerina Petrova." He then turned to Rose, "So I take it I was right? What I told you about the tomb under the church is true?" He asked. "Yes it was right. Thank you for the tip." She replied, nodding.
"It's nice to meet you. Maybe, what's going on Rose? Where's uh Trevor?" Slater said offering his hand but looking at Rose. No one replied, I stepped out from behind Damon offering my hand. "Hello Slater, I'm the one who insisted on meeting you. Do you know who I am?" I asked. He took my hand tentatively. As he did he could feel my powers washing over me.
"I've heard rumors. You go by a couple names, a couple faces. You've done things nobodies been capable of doing in over 100 years. I've heard that you respond to Hope Marshall, Andrea Marshall, but that you are a secret" he couldn't finish, I pulled him closer by his hand.
"Stop talking. If you want to live and want your friends to live, you will be loyal to the Mikaelson family. Those who choose to be loyal are rewarded greatly." I compelled him, pulling out a daylight ring. His eyes lighted up seeing the ring within his reach. "What do you say Slater?" I compelled an answer from him, pushing the ring closer to him.
"Loyalty to the Mikaelson's sounds nice." He said numbly, taking the ring quickly. I enchanted it as I do all my others. "This feels different than how people describe it is something different?" He asked looking as his ring. "I spelled it to give you more control over your hunger. It also won't come off if someone tries to take it." I answered.
"There is more than just daylight rings in store if you remain loyal." I told him pulling out a check for twenty million, but pulling back when he went to grab it. "I need something from you first. I need you to locate Ascendants. There are at least two that I know of, find me more. Be careful, the witches who contain them are fierce." I told him, giving him the check.
"You got it, Boss. Anything else?" He asked taking the check. "Find me Lucien Castle, Tristan and Aurora de Martel, I have much to discuss with them." I answered, giving him a necklace, knowing he'd need protection. "What's this?" He asked. "These vampires that you are looking for, are almost as old as my family. They will slaughter you just for fun. This will prevent that." I told him as he put the necklace on.
Once we left, Damon asked why he had come. "You were just interesting for him to meet. It gave me time for him to be comfortable meeting new people." I responded. "Used me for my status, how common of you." He replied with a smirk. I snapped back, "Oh really, says the vampire that manipulates people with theirs." I said with a smirk of my own. "Touché witchy." He said bumping my shoulder.
2 months later
I had decided to go in search of werewolves with dad, leaving the Bayou alone for now. Caroline and Stefan were in a tiff, Stefan would be joining us with Damon. Theo, Tyler and Mason had come to me, asking to be turned into hybrids by me. They didn't want to be under Dad's influence, they trusted my judgment enough to know I wouldn't lead them astray.
My new hybrids loved feeling the power coursing through them. I had compelled them to not pick on the weak, or use their new strength to intimidate people and treat them like prey. That being said, they were allowed to defend themselves and those they felt were wronged. I gave them plenty of leniency, Theo was now similar to me, a made tribrid. His magic was nothing compared to mine, more so to an average witch.
I never liked having a pack when I was the leader at the Salvatore School. I thought back to my friend Henry Benoit, and how if I had been smarter he would still be alive. I called Slater, reminded that I needed to deal with the Sienna family. If I can free Antoinette and Roman from Greta's fascist ideology it'll only be one body that needs to be dropped.
If I can convince them that Greta is bad, and to join our side then maybe I don't have to kill them. Hopefully Greta can lead me to her nazi coven. My new pack will tear them to shreds when we get the opportunity. Everyone was ready to leave. I had insisted on dirt bikes, making the traveling more bearable in the hilled regions.
3 weeks later
We were deep in the Appalachian Mountains when we came across our first pack. I had my pack members surround the werewolves. Dad wanted to turn everyone in sight but I had insisted on only turning willing members. We can't turn everyone and hope to have more werewolves down the line.
"Don't bother running, we mean you no harm." I called out to them as they had finally spotted us. "It's the Hybrid!" Someone shouted. "Good, you've heard of me. Despite my reputation, I have been counseled to offer you a choice." Dad said loud enough for everyone to hear.
"We would never side with the Hybrid." A man said. "You may when you hear what he has to offer." Mason called out. "I offer the choice of freeing yourself from the pain of turning. You will never have to turn again if you don't want to, you will be capable of feats you never dreamed of. Be a part of a superior species. Some of you will join, those who don't want this are free to make that decision." Dad said, delivering his message.
We watched them talk amongst themselves. About half the pack stepped forward, wanting to be a part of Dad's pack. I had given those who weren't joining necklaces to protect them from supernatural death. Vampires love to hunt wolves, so do human hunters. A female wolf had approached me, "How could you side with him?" She asked, disgust evident in her tone.
"I side with him because I am part of the superior species. I don't suffer like you do waiting to turn. He's a good leader and a good man, you aren't giving him enough credit. We aren't made up of our worst moments." I responded getting in her face with my eyes glowing. She backed down, literally cowering.
Dad and I worked our way through the newly turned hybrids, compelling them to not prey on the weak. We set rules for them, no betraying the Mikaelson's and no reckless vampire hunting. Some vampires are innocent, like Caroline and Slater. The hybrids let us know of other packs.
We all traveled together getting to know our new pack members. They were all reasonably friendly, having only met us today, and they were grateful that we didn't turn everyone against their will. We had traveled East for about a week when we came across the Malraux pack. I found Aunt Keelin with her people. I knew that Freya missed her wife.
This time when we approached, the new pack members introduced themselves, explaining how Dad offered them the choice. This time everyone stayed silent listening attentively. Those who chose to join us filed into lines, I saw Keelin at the back. I pulled her aside, away from everyone's watchful eyes.
"I know you don't know me, but we are family. There's a woman waiting for you. Can I show you?" I asked offering her my hands palms up. She looked at me with disbelief in her eyes. "I seriously doubt that. How are you going to show me?" She asked, looking at my hands.
"I'm part witch, I'm going to show you my memories. Take my hands and you'll see." I said pushing my arms out further. She finally took my hands, gasping at the memories. Seeing the rough start between Freya and herself, then slowly falling in love. Them having my Cousin Nik." She released. "Hope!" She choked out, taking me in her arms.
"Aunt Keelin, I missed you so much. It's been hard not having my voice of reason." I said, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Where's Freya?" She asked, wiping my face with her thumbs. "She's in Mystic Falls. Here is the address, if you want to call her here's her number. Personally I think you should go surprise her. She misses her wife." I told her, giving her the address and number.
I was the one to turn Keelin, she did not want to be sire-bound to Dad. Once she woke up and had my blood, I sent her on her way to Freya. I gave her about twenty grand for the travel and for new clothes. She wasn't taking anything that she had brought with her, just wanting to be with her wife.
