Rebekah POV:

Being home with my entire family is everything I've ever wanted. Getting to know Freya, Hope and Dahlia has been such a pleasure, not having to be the only girl in the family has been a real treat. Being in the 21st century and getting to experience the new age of partying, I've never enjoyed spending time with my siblings more.

Mikael and I had been training Hope's witches how to defend themselves in case they couldn't access to their magic. It was a slow start for some of them, never having thought that things would get physical on their end.I was the voice of reason for when the girls needed a break or to stop all together. Mikael was a Viking at heart, he needs to know this generation is much much softer than the one he was born into.

Nik had ben spending time with Caroline and his hybrids. Being a better Alpha than any of us had expected him to be. I guess having a community who are like you but aren't your family is truly important. Hope explained what being a hybrid felt like, Nik had never bothered. She likened it to having a fever, feeling uncomfortable in your skin. Feeling highly irritable and paranoid, experiencing werewolf traits on top of being a vampire with heightened emotions is hard to bear.

Hope has been working with Kol on his extreme thirst. I had been passing by when I spotted Kol in a spelled circle, meditating. Hope and her coven were stood in a square formation surrounding him. There was a bright gold and red light swirling above him, he seemed completely unaware of what was happening. The girls put their hands over their heads, chanting in Latin. Kol's eyes shot open, he laid down, spreading himself out as wide as he could.

Binds sprouted from the flooring, holding him in place. I didn't dare interfere with whatever Hope is doing, trusting her judgement. The swirling light permeated his chest, it looked as if he was screaming but no sound came out. When the spells were done the binds disappeared. Hope pulled out a cup and bled enough for each of her girls to get a good drink. Kol was unconscious on the floor.

Hope broke the circle, bringing a flask to his lips and letting him drink his fill. I entered the room, "What was all that? Are you alright Kol?" I asked them both. "All is well sister, our darling niece was doing something nobody thought possible. She found a way to give me access to our families magic. I have to go test it out!" He explained before sprinting off and away.

"What was he going on about, you giving him access to our families magic.?" I asked Hope. She turned to her girls, "I will see you later, go enjoy the rest of your night." She told them before returning to stand in front of me. Once they left we sat down together.

"I knew how much of a disconnect there was between Kol's days as a witch and his days as a vampire. It was the same as Dad when Esther bound his werewolf nature. Losing such an integral part of yourself. Personally I couldn't imagine my life without my magic, Kol had to suffer that for over a thousand years. So before you all killed Esther I had Henrik siphon all of her power away and stored it safely until I was ready to do something with it. Kol now has the power Esther once wielded, but none of the poisoned soul." She explained in great detail.

"Let me get this straight. You put the magic from Esther in Kol and now he is what?" I asked feeling super confused. "Kol is a hybrid, similar to me without the werewolf gene. I think this will bring him a great deal of peace and happiness to his life." She continued. "I'm ensuring that each of us has something or someone that makes us happy." She said looking down. "So does that include yourself?" I asked, trying to get her to look at me.

"There was this girl back in my timeline, it's likely that she and her sister won't ever exist in this timeline. So many different supernatural occurrences happened that helped them to survive. They were Kai's twin nieces, Lizzie and Josie. When I was fourteen and they were twelve, Lizzie had a crush on me." She paused and smiled sadly.

"Well she sounds like a smart girl. Anyone who has taste would like you." I said gently nudging hr knee. "Her sister also had a crush and she had slipped a note under my door at our boarding school, she later regretted it but she couldn't enter. She did a fire spell under my door, only aiming for the note but she burnt a painting I had done with Dad. She later confessed about all of it. Something I learned about myself is that I always pushed anyone I liked away in fear that they'll die because of me." She said wiping her eyes.

"I never really had the chance to love anyone, but if I did I would have loved her." She finished getting up and walking away. I might have pushed too far but I have never felt closer to her. Even from the memories of her timeline, there was a certain level of distance. I will have to check in on her later.

Hope POV:

Speaking of what could have happened is painful. Had I been more open with Lizzie maybe she would have been the person to hold my heart. I had to accept that when Henrik and I arrived I would probably never see the Saltzman twins again. I have been carrying a deep ache, knowing I won't see he again. Messaging everyone that I will be back either by tonight or tomorrow, I pulled the third Ascendant out of my bag.

I stopped at the Heretic House getting some of Kai's blood. I then went out to the Bayou and poured Bennett blood on it, as usual the bright light sucked me in. I landed back at the boarding house in Mystic Falls, it was dark but it wasn't snowing like the 1903 prison world. I looked around, the grass was green but the plants and trees were dead. I closed my eyes listening for signs of life, not finding any.

When I opened my eyes the trees and plants had regenerated. I'm guessing someone has been siphoning the grounds because magic resided here for a while. The day must have started over, but the darkness continues. Walking inside the boarding house I found a lit fire and two used cups on the table. The house was extended so it must have been a relatively new prison world, I went to my old room finding it complete with all my things.

Untouched by time, I turned to my left seeing the painting I had completed with Dad. I shrunk it down and put it in my bag, something from my past to hold on to. I pulled a map and Kai's blood, pouring it on top. I'm hoping that using his blood will lead me to the ascendant to get me out of here. I focused all my attention on it and slowly the blood started moving, it moved to the local hospital.

I kept the map with me speeding to the hospital, I found Damon's car sitting outside. I stood outside and once again listened for signs of life. This time I heard two sets of heart beats, and a frantic shuffling sound. I walked in, keeping my guard up, not knowing what I'm going to encounter. I take the stairs, trying to locate the people who are here.

Heading around the corner, I hear shuffling coming from the blood bank. "Where is it? The last time we were stuck there was Bennett blood in the hospital." A familiar voice said. "I was a little occupied the last time we were in a prison world. Wasn't a totally bad experience for me." A second, recognizable voice spoke. No way. There's no way this is happening.

I peak my head into the room finding Lizzie drinking from a bloodbag, and Josie shuffling through them trying to find Bennett blood. "What are you looking for?" I asked startling the pair. "JESUS! You scared the shit out of me, Mikaelson!" Lizzie said then quickly hugged me. I pulled back, staring into the most beautiful blue eyes that I missed so much.

Lizzie let go and Josie launched herself at me, almost knocking me back with the inertia. Despite Lizzie being a vampire Josie still attempted to whisper. "You have no idea how much I...we missed you." She said, I tightened my grip on her. Taking in a deep breath, "I have been grieving the loss of you both for years." I told them as I buried my head in her shoulder, crying tears of joy.

I released Josie, wiping my eyes. "What do you mean years? How long has it been?" She asked. "It has been about four years." I answered, shocking them. "Do you guys have the Ascendant?" I asked. "Yes we have it but we don't have Bennett blood to get out." Josie responded. "Well you ladies are in luck." I said pulling out a vial of Sheila Bennett's blood. "Let's get the fuck out of here." Lizzie said, holding a fresh bloodbag.
