Chapter 48: A Life in a Belly

Clarissa gives a kiss to Renee on the forehead and exits the bathroom. Renee gets in the tub and turns on Supernatural. She lays back in the bath, resting her head on the wall. Clarissa sees Izzy sitting on Chans bed as she exits the bathroom. "I can't believe you touched his laptop." Izzy says as she gets up from Chans bed. "Can we talk about more important things?" She looks to see who pulled her after she gets her footing back. It was Hyunjin, Felix standing next to him.

"Is she okay?" Felix asks. "She'll be fine. She's in the bath right now watching Netflix." Clarissa answers. "How is she watching Netflix in the bathroom?" Hyunjin asks with one eyebrow raised. "Clarissa put Chans laptop in the bathroom and put it on there." Izzy answered with a smirk. Hyunjin and Felix gasp. "He's going to kick your ass." Hyunjin says rubbing his hand along the back of his neck. "I'd rather him be mad at me than at Renee." Clarissa says shrugging.

They exit the room and enter the open living area that is filled with the aroma of  Mandu, and a set kitchen table. Everyone sits at the table and starts making their plates. "Why are there two empty seats?" Han asks with puffed up cheeks full of food. Hyunjin, Felix, Clarissa and Izzy stop in the middle of eating their food; looking at each other. Everyone looks at them. "What's going on?" Changbin asks. Everyone stays silent, and Renee enters the room. She's wrapped in a fluffy robe with a pair of slippers and her hair up in a towel. She sits at the table and looks at the food. Her stomach turns at the sight of it. She continues to make a plate to attempt to eat since she hasn't eaten anything all day from feeling sick. "Where have you been?" Leeknow asks. "I was taking a bath. It was much needed. Thank you Clarissa. I feel better." Clarissa nods as if to say you're welcome since her mouth was full of food.

Renee takes a few bites and quickly gets up from her seat, racing for the bathroom. "Mmm, what's going on?" Suengmin asks. "I would tell you, but I don't think that it's my business to be spreading." Felix says as he looks at the others. Hyunjin, Clarissa and Izzy nod. Everyone stays quiet and finishes their food without speaking for the rest of the meal.

Chan is sitting on a bench at Han River. Looking out to the water, watching people walk by. He sees people walking alone, couples, families. He then sees a single Mom with a child that's around 3 years old and a baby stroller. "I want ice cream." The little boy cries to his Mom. "I'm sorry sweetie, I don't have the extra money for it. What I have left is for your baby sister." The Mom says to her child trying to calm him down. Chan gets up from the bench and approaches the ice cream cart. "Can I have two chocolate ice creams please." Chan gives the man the money and takes the two ice creams. He then walks towards the family of three. He smiles at the Mom and bows. "I got this for you and your little boy." Chan says to her. "You didn't have to do that." She says as she bows to him. "I know I didn't, I just felt like doing something nice for someone." The Mom smiles and takes her ice cream. Chan puts himself down to the boys level and gives him the ice cream. "Here you go little man. Please try to be good for your Mom. She is doing everything that she can for you and your sister. She works so hard for you both, cares and loves for the two of you very much. She will always be there for you." The little boy smiles and takes the ice cream. He looks at his Mom with a smile and hugs her. "I'm sorry Mommy. I love you." The little boy says to his Mom. The Mom smiles and hugs him back. "I love you too, Ji-Yeong." Chan stands up and smiles. The Mom and son smile back at him and bow and say thank you one more time. Chan bows back as he starts to walk away from the family. Chan smiles to himself and starts heading back to the dorm.

Back at the dorm, everyone is done eating dinner. Changbin and Jeongin are cleaning up the kitchen and everyone else is getting ready for bed. Hyunjin and Clarissa go in their room and decide to go to sleep for the night since a lot has happened, they're both exhausted.

Felix and Izzy go into their room, and Izzy sits on the bed while Felix pulls out his Switch. "Do you think everything is going to be okay with Chan and Renee? They got together about a month ago and this is the second thing that they've had to deal with." Izzy asks Felix concerned. "I'm sure they'll be fine. Renee has liked him for a long time, and Chan didn't know that he did until recently. I'm sure that they'll know what to do." Felix answers as he lays next to Izzy in bed, turning on his Switch. "I hope so. A baby can be a lot of hard work. It takes two dedicated people that truly love each other." Izzy says as she snuggles up to Felix to watch him play his game.

"I bet we could do it." Felix said as he starts to play. "Do what?" Izzy asks with raised eyebrows. "Have a baby." Izzy quickly sits up as she hears what Felix says and gasps. "What?
