Chapter 61: Long Roads Ahead

Clarissa wakes up in a bed in a dim lit room. The windows are covered by some curtains and the room was rather small. It only had a bed and a small bathroom and an end table next to the bed. She winces and inhales through her teeth as she feels pain from her surgery travel through her torso.

She looks at the end table and sees her phone. She picks it up and sees that she has text notifications.

She opens the one from JYP first.

JYP:
Let me know when you're up and I'll let the nurse know and have her come look at you. Get well soon and rest!!

Clarissa:
I am up now. Thank you for everything that you have done for me. (:

JYP:
It's not a problem at all. I'm just glad you're safe.

Clarissa responds to other messages as she waits for the nurse.

Bella:
I heard that you should be getting your phone back today. Just wanted to check in.

Bella:
You've been out for a while, I hope everything is okay.

Bella:
Everything is going okay here. We all just want to see you.

Clarissa:
I'm doing okay. I just woke up from my surgery. I had some internal bleeding from my injuries. Thank you for checking in on me.

Next she see notices a text from Jeongin and a voicemail. She sighs as she remembers that last thing that she heard from Hyunjin. "Jeongin likes you." She hears Hyunjin say in her head. She decides to text Jeongin first to get it out of the way.

Jeongin:
I hope you're doing okay.

Jeongin:
I'm sorry for the things that I've done. I hope you can forgive me.

Clarissa:
I'm doing fine. I had some internal bleeding from my injuries and I just woke up from my surgery. You and I can talk later.

She goes to open her voicemails as the nurse enters the room. "Hey Clarissa." The nurse says quietly with politeness. Clarissa waves and bows. "How are you feeling?" Clarissa looks at the nurse, "I'm doing alright. I'm in pain of course." The nurse nods, "Pain is to be expected. I can give you some pain pills to help with it. We will also be providing some antibiotics to make sure that everything heals smoothly." Clarissa nods in agreement. "When can I go home?" She asks, hoping for good news. "We usually like to keep you another day, but JYP has given you the option for when you would like to leave. Just send him a text and he'll get everything arranged to have you be picked up." Again, Clarissa nods. "Is there anything else that I can help you with?" The nurse asks with a friendly smile. "No, I'm alright for right now. Thank you." Clarissa smiles back at her. The nurse bows and exits the room.

Clarissa goes back to her phone and opens the voicemail, it's from Hyunjin.

"Hey Clary baby."

She feels relieved and sadness as Clarissa's eyes start to fill with tears from hearing his voice. She misses him so much. Her heart is pounding for him, wanting to feel his touch.

"I just wanted to let you know that there hasn't been a second where I haven't thought about you. I love you so much and I hope you're doing okay." Hyunjin pauses and sniffles. "I miss you so much and can't wait for you to be in my arms again." He says with his voice breaking. "I just wanna see you." He sniffles again as his voice trembles. "I...I love you Clary. I'll be here when you're ready to talk."
