Chapter 50: Hidden Feelings

Jeongin hears the news about Dakota being in the city. His stomach feels like ocean waves tumbling around. He feels nauseous. His heart beating a million beats per minute, filled with hatred. He looks over at Clarissa who is sitting a few seats away from him at the dining table. She's sobbing. He can't stand to see her filled with such sadness and fear.

Clarissa gets up from the table and follows Hyunjin into their bedroom. Jeongin stares at the ground, bouncing his leg. Fists so tight his knuckles are white. "Why the hell did that douchebag have to come back here and ruin Clarissa's happiness?!" He thinks to himself. He throws his head back, and takes a deep breath, still bouncing his leg. He grabs his plate from the table and tosses it into the kitchen sink, almost breaking the plate.

Jeongin walks in Hyunjins and Clarissa's room without knocking and slammed the door behind him. Clarissa jumps up from Hyunjin chest and turns around and sees Jeongin. Jeongin approaches Clarissa and holds her tight and glares at Hyunjin. He pulls away from Clarissa, and puts her aside. "I thought you took care of this?!" Jeongin raises his voice at Hyunjin. "I did. Well, JYP did. I didn't think this would happen again." Hyunjin responds trying to stay calm. "Obviously something went wrong. Now Clarissa is in danger. She's obviously terrified for her life and you're in here doing god knows what instead of trying to find this guy!" Jeongins voice gets louder. Hyunjin takes a step back to create some distance between the two of them. "I understand that you're upset. I'm not sure why you're so upset, but I'm doing what JYP has asked. I'm trying to start packing for the both of us." Hyunjin explains. "Trust me Jeongin. After we relocate, I will be looking for Dakota." Jeongins eyes fill with anger. "I can't believe that you can even say his name." Jeongin says as he scrunches his eyes together. Jeongin walks up to Clarissa. "I promise I won't let anything happen to you. If your boyfriend doesn't protect you, I will." Jeongin glares at Hyunjin and exits the room.

Clarissa and Hyunjin look at each other with a confused look on their faces. "What's gotten into him?" Clarissa asks Hyunjin. "I honestly have no idea. I've never really seen him act like that before." Hyunjin explains with a shrug and starts to pack up the stuff that he ended up throwing out of the luggage.

Hyunjin and Clarissa hear a light knock at the door. "Come in." Hyunjin says. Leeknow opens the door just enough to peek his head in. "Is everything okay in here? I heard some yelling." Hyunjin sighs. "Yeah, everything is fine. Jeongin came in here pissed. He's mad that Dakota is back." Leeknow sighs as well. "I don't think any of us are thrilled about him being here. I'll talk to Jeongin and see why he acted the way he did though. That's usually not like him." Leeknow says to the couple, Hyunjin nods and Leeknow leaves the room to find Jeongin.

Leeknow goes to Changbins room and sees that he and Jeongin are talking. "May I come in?" Leeknow asks, standing in the doorway. The two of them nod, and Leeknow takes a seat in the desk chair across from the bed. "What happened in Hyunjins room Jeongin?" Leeknow asks. "I was just letting him know that if he doesn't protect Clarissa this time I will. He should've taken care of this problem the first time it happened, or we wouldn't be having to do it again. Hyunjin needs to take better care of his girl." Jeongin huffs. Changbin scratches the back of his head. "Hyunjin did what he thought was right the first time. He had JYP take care of it. Don't blame him. What would you have done differently?" Changbin asks him. "I would have found him on my own and handled it myself. I don't need JYP." Leeknow and Changbin sigh and look at each other.

"I want to find this guy. I don't need JYP. Let me do it." Jeongin says sternly. "I can't approve that. You need to talk to JYP." Leeknow says throwing his hands up in the air. "Hold on now Jeongin. I don't think that's a good idea. We have no idea what this guy can do or what he's willing to do. You don't need to put yourself in danger because of this." Changbin pipes in, giving his opinion. "That's what Hyunjin should've done! If he truly cared for his girlfriend, he would've done whatever it takes to ensure that he wouldn't come back, all by himself. I'll talk to JYP." Jeongin says with an attitude. "Okay." Leeknow says as he stands up out of the seat and exits the room.

"Why are you doing this?" Changbin asks Jeongin. Jeongin takes a deep breath. "I like her. I don't want to see her hurt again. She has a sweet soul and a kind heart. She deserves better." Jeongin says and gets up to leave the room to go pack. Changbin tries to find words, but can't seem to form a sentence. He gets up from his bed and continues to go back to packing as well.

"It's time to go!" JYP yells as he enters the dorm. Everyone gathers in the room and they all head down to the company van to be taken to their new temporary location.
