Chapter 37: Unwanted Guest

Hyunjin chuckles at his girlfriend as he lifts her head up with his fingers. "Speaking of your appointment, we should probably get going to that." Clarissa nods and starts grabbing her belongings. They enter the elevator and go down to the bottom floor.

They start walking out the door as Hyunjin stops, patting his pockets. "I'll meet you outside. I forgot my phone." He says running back into the elevator. Clarissa goes outside and sits on a bench. She feels a tap on her shoulder.

She turns around and sees a man standing behind her. He's tall, with a bulky body. He has a sharp jaw line, somewhat thin lips, brown eyes and a fade hair cut with curly hair on top. He was wearing a baggy white T-shirt and some skinny jeans with converse. It was Dakota.

"Dakota?" She asks looking at him. "Yeah, it's me." He says with a smile. "What in the world are you doing here?" She asks as she stands up from the bench. "You told me you moved here. I can't believe you left without saying goodbye to me." He says pouting. "Dakota, it's not like we were that close of friends. I'm sorry I didn't say bye to you. How did you even find me?" She asks. "I looked at the location on your phone. I wanted to see you." He says smiling. Clarissa starts to feel uneasy knowing that he invaded her privacy. "Uhm, okay." Was all she could say. "So what happened to you? Why are you wearing a sling? Where are you going?" Dakota asks her. "It's a long story. I'm on my way to the doctors." She tells him.

"I just wanted to say," Dakota starts to speak as Hyunjin comes out of the building and puts his arm around Clarissa's waist. Dakota and Hyunjin stare at each other.

"Hi. Who are you?" Hyunjin asks him with a raised eyebrow. "I'm Dakota." Hyunjin looks at Clarissa. "Is this the guy that you were telling me about on Facebook?" Clarissa nods. "Why is he here?" Clarissa shrugs, not really sure why he's here. "He said that he wanted to see me. I don't know why." She tells him.

They both look back at Dakota who has a confused look on his face, since he doesn't know Korean. "Do you speak Korean now? Who is this guy Clary?" Hyunjin can feel his stomach turn as he calls her Clary. It didn't sit well with him. "Dakota, this is Hyunjin. My boyfriend." Dakotas eyes study Hyunjin. "He doesn't look like your type." He scoffs. "He is very much my type, thank you. Why is it any of your business who I'm attracted to?" She says with a little anger. "I just thought you were always into guys like me." Dakota says shrugging. Clarissa side eyes Hyunjin with a look saying 'get me out of here'.

"I'm sure that we would all love to chit chat, but we need to get going. We don't want to be late for her appointment." Hyunjin says grabbing her hand and pulling her away from Dakota gently. "Okay, that's cool. I'll text you later!" Dakota shouts at them as Clarissa and Hyunjin create distance between them and Dakota.

"Thank you. He was nice in middle school, now I just get a weird vibe from him." She says squeezing Hyunjins hand. "Something doesn't feel right with him. You let me know if he makes you feel uncomfortable and I'll get it taken care of." Clarissa nods and relaxes her hand, knowing that she is safe with Hyunjin. She loves being with him. She's never been happier.
