Chapter 72: Never Ending Pain

The day continues on as both Hyunjin and Clarissa finish their breakfast. Clarissa puts on Hyunjins grey sweatpants, along with one of his t-shirts. She throws her hair up into a messy bun. "I feel like shit today." Clarissa says as she watches Hyunjin look through his clothes. She holds her stomach as her mouth fills with saliva; her stomach tossing and turning. "I think I'm going to be sick." She exclaims as she darts for the bathroom.

Hyunjin finishes putting on his clothes. He chose to wear some baggy jeans with a black t shirt. Hyunjin goes and lightly knocks on the bathroom door. "Clary baby, are you okay?" He asks standing outside of the door. He hears the toilet flush and the sink turn on. Clarissa was breathing heavily. Hyunjin again slightly knocks on the door. "Helloooo?" Hyunjin says in a sing song.

Clarissa opens the door and lets him in before closing it. She sits on the wall of the tub, "I just threw up." She answers. "Are you okay?" Hyunjin asks as he crouches down in front of her, holding her hands. "I think so. I hope nothing is wrong. I haven't said anything cause I didn't want to worry you, but I have been feeling achy and nauseous a lot recently. I noticed I've been sleeping more too." Clarissa explains as she looks at Hyunjin worried. "Hey, don't worry. I'm sure it's just some minor symptoms from your body reacting to the surgery. I'm sure you're okay." Hyunjin says with care as he strokes her cheek with his thumb. "You're going to be alright."

Hyunjin kisses her on the forehead and stands up. "We should get going to your appointment." He says extending out his hand to Clarissa. Clarissa nods and grabs his hand. Hyunjin pulls her up and they both exit the room to go the appointment.

"We're done!" The doctor exclaims as he pulls the syringe out of Cheyenne. Cheyenne sits up and looks up at the doctor. "So now I wait about 6-8 weeks before taking a pregnancy test?" She asks. "That is correct. Let us know the results and we will take the next step from there." The doctor says with a friendly smile, "do you have any questions?" The doctor asks. Cheyenne shakes her head, "no, I don't think so." They bow to each other before the doctor leaves the room.

Cheyenne gets up off of the examining bed, cleans herself up and gets dressed. She walks out of the exam room and turns down the hall and enters into the waiting room, where Felix and Izzy were. Cheyenne stands in front of them as Izzy and Felix get up from their seats. "So, how did it go?" Felix asks Cheyenne. "It went fine. No complications. I just have to take a pregnancy test in about 6-8 weeks, and we'll go from there." She responds confidently as they head to exit out of the building.

As they get outside they see Hyunjin and Clarissa walking to the entrance of the building. "Hey! How did it go?" Hyunjin asks as he and Clarissa get closer to them. "It went well. We won't know anything for a few weeks." Felix explains with a shrug but put on a happy face. Clarissa and Hyunjin wished them good luck before heading inside for their appointment.

A few moments after checking in, Clarissa is called back to be taken back to the exam room. They enter the room and Hyunjin takes a seat in the guest chair. "With everything that your body has been healing from and the trauma that you experienced, it's procedure that we do some blood and urine tests. When you're done, a phlebotomist will be waiting to take your blood." The nurse explains to Clarissa as she hands her a cup. Clarissa takes it and goes to the bathroom.

After a few minutes Clarissa returns from the restroom and sees the phlebotomist waiting for her just as she was told. She gets her blood taken and the phlebotomist leaves the room, leaving Hyunjin and Clarissa alone. They sit in silence as they anticipate the test results.

A few moments later and the doctor comes in the room. He asks to look at the incision from her surgery and the brand on her leg. The doctor finishes examining and says, "Everything is healing well. I say you should be healed within a week or so."

The doctor opens Clarissa's file and leans against the counter. He looks at Clarissa. "Have you noticed any new symptoms that you may be concerned about?" The doctor asks. Clarissa nods no, "I don't think so." The doctor doesn't speak for a few seconds. "Have you been feeling sick? Headaches?" The doctor continues to prod. "I mean, yeah. A little nausea but not too much. I threw up this morning. I've had some body aches and sleeping more." Clarissa says, "but I thought it was from the surgery and trauma that my body has went through."

The doctor sighs and looks at both Hyunjin and Clarissa. "I'm not sure if what I'm about to say will be good or bad news for you." The doctor says with hesitation. Hyunjin and Clarissa look at each other with worry. "I don't know how else to say this, but; you're pregnant." The doctor says.

Hyunjin looks at Clarissa confused, "but-" he stammers, looking away from Clarissa to the ground. "We haven't done anything since you've been back." He says quietly as he puts his head in his hands. Clarissa's cheeks become wet from tears falling down her face. "It's Dakotas." She cries. Clarissa's body is trembling, she quickly darts for the trash can and vomits.

"I'm sorry that this has happened to you." The doctor says calmly.  "There are some options that the two of you need to discuss. There's adoption, abortion, talk about what you two want to do with the baby. You have a couple weeks to decide. I'm sorry." The doctor explains before walking out of the room.

Hyunjin stands up from the chair. "HOW DARE HE IMPREGNATE YOU?!" Hyunjin yells as he continuously punches the wall. He may have broke some knuckles, but he didn't care.

Clarissa stands up from the trash can and looks at Hyunjin. Hyunjin quickly pulls her in for a hug, tears streaming down his face; he's finding it hard to breathe. Hyunjin can feel Clarissas body was tense and trembling. He holds her tighter, closer. "Just when I thought we were done with him." Hyunjin thinks to himself.

Clarissa looks up at Hyunjin, "what are we going to do?" Her voice shaking as she asks the question. "Right now, we're gonna go home. There's nothing we can do here right now. We need time to process this." He explains as he continues to hold her. Hyunjin releases from the hug and grabs onto Clarissa's arm, leading her out of the doctor's office to go home.
