[Y/n's PoV]

I found myself standing outside the prison walls as the morning sun crept over the horizon.

My mind was still swimming with the memories of the events that had led to my incarceration as the sound of the prison bars closing behind me.

"Come, little rabbit."

A familiar voice cut through the fog of my thoughts. It was Jade. She walked towards me- her footsteps clicking against the pavement.

Ah, right...

In less than a day, she utilized her influence to pay off the man my parents sold me to and used it as leverage to get me out of prison.

I guess you could say that I was now finally free from both the constraints of my parents' debt, and the legal consequences of murdering them.

She led me through the corridors of the IPC building with a steady stride. Her long pink hair flowing behind her like a silk curtain. She stopped at a door and entered in a code that triggered the security lock, allowing the door to whoosh open.

"After you." she said with a smirk.

I slowly stepped inside and found myself quite speechless. Everything seemed to scream opulence; from the silk sheets to the polished fixtures and polished floors.

This is... her room?

It was decorated to exude class and luxury, with silk-clad furniture that seemed too elegant to be touched. In the center of her bedroom was a spacious king-sized bed, its sheets rumpled with sheets of silk that appeared to be just the right texture of softness and warmth.

Across from the bed was a set of french windows offered a view of the city skyline beyond.

"Here."

She tossed me a bundle of fabric. I unravelled it and saw that it was a dark suit. The lapel had the IPC logo embroidered along the edge in black, clearly marking it as a belonging to the corporation.

"Wear this, and clean yourself up. There's a bathroom right through there," she gestured to a door across the room.

"You'll be coming with me at my business meeting today and after that, you'll begin your first training."

I simply nodded and walked towards the bathroom. Upon entering, I found myself in a sea of white tiles, the clean and pristine room was lit with bright fluorescent lights that reflected off the mirror and porcelain. The scent of soap and lavender wafted through the air, creating an almost calming atmosphere.

I stepped out of my prison jumpsuit and into the shower.

How does this... even work...

It took me some time before the hot water beat over my skin and wash away the grime and dirt that accumulated for the past few days.

Once I was done, I put on the suit and my hair was still dripping with water. I stepped out towards the bedroom, finding Jade perched elegantly on the sofa while waiting for me.

"You look like a true member of the IPC now. But don't get too comfortable, we've got a business to attend."

She stood up and walked towards me. With her fingers, she reached up and adjusted the suit. She then hummed softly before pulling back, turning to walk out the door.

"Let's go, little rabbit. The day is just starting."

I followed her lead and fell in step behind her stepping out of the room and into the sterile corridor of the IPC building. As we walked, I couldn't help but notice the gazes of other people in the building as we passed.
