[Y/n's PoV]
We headed out of the interrogation room while walking side by side in silence for a few moments until we were out of Diamond's line of sight.
Huh?
Jade randomly tugged on my sleeve and pulled me into a secluded corner. Once we were away from prying eyes, she grabbed me and pushed me against the wall, trapping me in place with her body.
"You know, I couldn't help but notice that you seemed a bit tense during the interrogation earlier." she whispered near my ear.
"Were you afraid that man will hurt me?"
I sighed, "You're overreacting some things. It's only normal for me to do that as your... bodyguard."
"Oh, I know that part, my little bunny, but there was something else in your eyes when you pinned that man down. Something other than just concern for my safety."
"...."
She ran her fingers lightly along my jawline, tilting my head up to meet her gaze. Her eyes were dark and smoldering as she continued.
"You were afraid. Worried. Protective. Like a bunny protecting its mate."
Her face inched closer to mine to place her lips on my neck. Of course, my body involuntarily tensed up, but she held me still.
"How cute," she whispered. "My little rabbit, always so quick to jump to my defense. And I couldn't help but find it incredibly... attractive."
"Tell me..."
"...Are you becoming possessive of me?~"
"I'm not... What are you even talking about? It's not even in my nature to do that. I just know how it feels to be hit by a man out of rage so I don't want that to happen to you." I tried to explain.
However Jade just chuckle in response. Does she find my resistance funny?
"You always have a reason. Always logical, always rational. But you seem to forget... I am good at understanding people's emotions and right now, I can see right through you; I know you better than you think. You're like a territorial rabbit guarding its burrow. It's adorable, you know."
Jade then bit my neck lightly making me wince.
"Careful, bunny. Otherwise, we'll be doing it here." She smirks and withdrew her body, allowing me some space to breathe.
"We'd better get going. I know a place where we can enhance more activities for today." She straightened her clothes.
I nodded in affirmation before she led me to a small bar tucked away in the corner of the facility. It was a cozy, dimly-lit space with a low ceiling and walls covered in old photographs and newspaper clippings.
Once inside, we took a seat as she ordered some simple yet expensive wine. I glanced at her and she seemed to relax considerably in this more casual atmosphere. Her usual business-like persona gives way to that more carefree demeanor.
She took a sip of her wine while savoring the taste before turning her attention back to me.
"So, tell me, my little rabbit," she began, "How long are you going to keep resisting your feelings towards me?"
I tilted my head in confusion.
"Why would I? There's nothing inside me except emptiness."
Or... Perhaps that's what I always thought?
