[Y/n's PoV]

Later that night, after I had been discharged from the infirmary, Jade and I lay side by side on the bed. She propped herself up on one elbow while her gaze was fixed upon me.

"Why do you always do things like this? Why do you never listen when I tell you not to get hurt?"

"I'm your–"

"Ah-ah, don't even say you're my bodyguard as an excuse." She cut me off before I could even complete my sentence.

"Look at this." She gestured to the cut on my cheek and the shot wound on my shoulder where Constance's tail had struck me.

"You always find a way to get hurt, don't you?"

"...I'm sorry..." I whispered quietly.

She sighed before cupping my cheek.

"You apologize, but somehow it keeps happening again and again."

"...."

Sensing my silence, Jade wrapped her arms around me and pulled me closer to her on the bed.

"You're impossible," she mumbled, "You're lucky I care about you too much, my little rabbit."

She then leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on the cut on my cheek before pulling away.

"Do you want to continue that conversation from earlier? About us?"

"Us..? Ah, right..." I whispered.

Us...

She nodded. "Yes, about us. I'd like to finish discussing that, if you're up for it."

Her voice seems quieter as well.

"Have we... not finished it earlier..? I thought we already had..."

She only raised an eyebrow at my response as a small smirk played at the corner of her lips.

"Ah, my little bunny, always so oblivious."

"So is there?" I asked.

"There are a few things left for us to address. Such as what our relationship means now. After all..."

"We did confess to each other. What do you think that makes us now?"

"Umm... lovers..?"

"Well, I was expecting something a bit more dramatic. But yes, lovers... that's what we are now. Are you uncomfortable with it, considering your background?" she asked.

Ah yes, I'm still not used to being so close to people due to my past trauma, and I'm somewhat oblivious to relationships too.

"...Yes. I mean— no... I don't know..."

She let out a chuckle at my uncertain response.

"You're not helping your case here, my little rabbit. I can't help but find it cute how clueless you are."

I sighed and looked away. "Are you... purposely teasing me?"

"Perhaps." she smirks, "Your flustered expression is simply too adorable to resist. I admit that I do enjoy seeing you squirm a bit. Plus, this is quite a rare sight for you to reveal more than one emotions on your face."

"Always masking your feelings behind that cool facade of yours. But now, you're laying here all flustered and vulnerable, it does things to me."

I just looked at her confused. "What... things?"
