[Y/n's PoV]

I was standing on a balcony overlooking the city at night. The soft glow of streetlights illuminates the streets below, and the stars twinkle overhead for me to reminisce about my past.

It had been some years after the woman who saved me during that unforgettable rainy day took me under her wing and forced me to become her own bodyguard and her own lover in the process.

And now, here we were, years later, having weathered many storms together, forged an unbreakable bond, and created a life filled with love and warmth. The woman whom I constantly pushed away had become my everything- my partner, my purpose, my home.

Despite the ups and downs, the arguments, and the misunderstandings that inevitably arose in any relationship, Jade- or rather Eve's unwavering love and understanding always managed to bring us back together. Her patience always allowed her to navigate the complexities of our bond, always striving to grow and learn alongside me.

The revelation of my true nature, the darkness that lurked within me, did not deter her. Instead, she chose to love me for who I was, accepting the entirety of my being. And in doing so, she transformed me, helping me to confront and control the destructive tendencies that once threatened to consume me.

I heard rumors in the past saying she's doing shady business with all sorts of people who visited her shop.

To those who whispered behind closed doors, they saw her business dealings as shady, even illicit. But to me, she was simply an astute businesswoman, capable of navigating the shadows in order to achieve her goals. I understood the simplicity and temptation of her trades.

It was a give-and-take, an exchange that could be as risky as it was rewarding.

People were complex creatures, capable of possessing multiple facets to their personalities. And just like a precious gemstone, each side could reveal a beautiful and unique character trait, waiting to be discovered and appreciated.

"Y/n." She called out as she approached me with a wine in her hand.

"I've been watching you for a while," she murmured, "You looked lost in thought. What's on your mind? Something fun?"

Even though she speaks in a light tone, her words only reveal one thing- she wants attention.

Since the person I love deeply is right before me, I might as well answer her directly rather than making a wild guess.

"Just reminiscing about the day we met and events happened after, that's all."

"What a sentimental little bunny you are, thinking about the past like that."

"Well, you did save me from my own death wish back then."

"My, my, save you? I simply saw a lost soul in need of some guidance, that's all. A lost soul with a stubborn attitude and a knack for causing trouble."

I hummed, ignoring her last statement.

"I guess your investment back then now flourished to what she is right now."

"...I'd like to think so. You've become much more than I ever anticipated. Stronger, confident, and fiercely protective. It was an investment well worth making."

I only raised a brow. "When you say fiercely protective, does the full meaning of it meant gets easily jealous?"

"Does that thought make you uncomfortable?" She asked with the corners of her lips curling upwards into an impish grin.

"No, I just wondered when I was jealous..."

"Ah, that was quite a while back. There was this one time when a certain someone visited me for business." She paused, letting the memory linger in the air before continuing, "You got a bit possessive, to say the least."

"Have I? I don't remember..." I tried to pretend I forgot.

"Come now, you made it very clear to him that I was off the market and under your protection. It was quite adorable... and slightly intriguing to watch. And there was also this-"

"Hey now, I don't get jealous but rather... particular. You just tend to have a strange charm that enchants others without you trying- it can be dangerous and unpredictable at times." I defended.

"I suppose that is true. But I assure you, there's only room in my heart for one." she added with a sly smile. "It's always been just you and me, hasn't it my little rabbit?"

"Yes," I whispered before grabbing her hand and intertwined it with mine. "Just you and me..."

Her free hand reached up to cup my cheek as she leaned in close to brush her lips against mine in an affectionate kiss.

"As it should be..." she whispered against my lips.

"I love you... my precious gem. Thank you for bringing this side to me."

"...I love you too, my sweet little bunny." She whispered before pressing her forehead against mine. "Thank you for letting me guide you to this side of yours. You are the definition of a perfectly ripe fruit who was harvest in time."

"...And suddenly, all life's dullness were replaced by the colors you bought to me." I whispered.

"That's all I ever wanted, really..." she admitted.

"For you to see the colors and the beauty of the world through my eyes. Thank you, for trusting me as your partner, Y/n. Now, come let's head back. The night is growing cold but I'm sure the Amber Lord will be there to protect us."

I nodded with a small smile as we headed back. That's right, whatever we may overcome in the future, I'll be here by her side.

Even if the shaping and shapeless gave me a power, I'll use it to create meaning that is born from nothingness.

Everything I currently live for is for her. As a member of the IPC, the company wants nothing but to preserve something they hold value. And that's what I must do too. I will continue to serve and live to protect her. My only haven.

While we may all present a certain image or facade to the world, the truth is that each person is infinitely complex and multifaceted. Just as a gemstone's true beauty is revealed only when it is cut and polished, we each have hidden depths and facets that are only revealed when we take the time to look beyond the surface. Like a gem, we may be rough and unpolished at first, but with time, care, and attention, our beauty and value can be fully realized. That's what I learned from Jade gem's investment on me.
