I groaned as the sunlight through the glass window hit my eyes. I noticed that Jade isn't here— probably heading out early for business.

She has always been an early riser, so it wasn't surprising that she had already left for work. I shifted in bed, rubbing my eyes to adjust to the brightening room as I contemplated getting up or trying to go back to sleep for a little while longer since she wasn't here to scold me if necessary.

"My little rabbit."

What the...

Jade's hologram suddenly popped out beside me which surprised me a bit before I composed myself.

"Mistress..." I addressed her.

"Morning, sleepyhead," she greeted with a smirk as she watched me try to wake up fully. "I see you're still in bed. Did you enjoy your extra rest?"

"I... I did... thank you..." I whispered the last part out.

"You're welcome. I know how much you need your rest especially when you begin your training again. I'll give you my location so we can catch up after my meeting is over, and please, my bunny, do not adress me as your mistress when we're exposed to the public. Only I could hear it and nobody else, understood?" she added teasingly as her hologram moves closer to me.

"Umm... okay..."

She let out a gentle laugh.

"I'll message you soon, my little rabbit. Be good and enjoy the rest of your morning."

After her hologram disappeared, I took a deep breath and slowly got up from bed. I couldn't help but notice how my thoughts kept drifting to Jade the entire time.

Strange...

It was as if I found myself so drawn to her lately— how easily she managed to slip past my normally guarded exterior and make me feel things that I had never felt before.

Was it because I was starting to trust her? Or is it something else...

I shook my head to clear my thoughts.

"No, stop it," I chided myself. "I can't let myself start feeling this way about her."

I'm her bodyguard... and... also her lover...

And yet, despite knowing the truth, I couldn't seem to quell the growing feelings that were starting to stir within the deepest recesses of my heart. Maybe it was because she's just an expert at understanding one's wish.

I sighed.

This is getting too complicated.

I took a moment to gaze at my reflection in the mirror, seeing the mixed emotions swimming in my eyes, a near perfect blend of anxiety, anticipation and longing.

I just looked away from my own reflection before heading to the bathroom. Maybe this is exactly what she's banking on. After all, Jade had never been one to do things by halves. She had this talent to see other people's wishes, like it was just a part of a game— a pawn rather for her.
