..?!

I sat upright in bed where I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. My body was slick with cold sweat, and I could feel tears streaming down my cheeks as the memories of my traumatic past resurfaced in an unwelcomed embrace.

The room was dark, and I shivered in the cold. My mind was still reeling from the nightmare that had felt all too real. The images- emotions, all of it replayed on a loop in my mind leaving me feeling shaken and vulnerable.

I just returned from my duties earlier. Clearly, I was exhausted, yet I stirred from my sleep by her sudden movement. I opened my eyes and glanced over at her from my side, noticing the tears streaming down her face and the shaking of her shoulders.

"My bunny, are you alright?"

I was about to touch her shoulders but she immediately smacked her hands and moved away from me.

"Stop. Don't... touch me..."

"...."

I recoiled slightly but I didn't take it personally. Instead, I moved closer and ignored her protestations. I knew she was having a nightmare, hence I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into a tight embrace.

"It's okay," I whispered, "I'm here. You're safe. I won't hurt you. I promise."

However, my attempts only failed when she pushed me away as tears continued to flow from her eyes.

"Get away." she muttered.

"Don't touch me with those hands. I hate it, I hate it..."

"...."

"Just breathe."

"Take slow, deep breaths. It's going to be okay, my little rabbit. I know it's hard- I know you're scared. But I'm here for you. Please let me in."

"No, you're all the same. Using people- manipulating people just to get what you want."

I soon noticed the suffocating atmosphere she was emanating from her emotions around the room and that's when it hit me.

"You're not awake." I whispered.

"You're not awake yet, are you?"

I knew that she was still trapped in the grips of the nightmare and I needed to wake her up.

"Listen to me," I said firmly. "I am not your parents. I am here to support you. Just give me a chance."

...?

I then glanced at the room and saw some shadows begin to form around us.

Is she creating this?

Her power seems to be causing disturbances in the room and if left unchecked, it could grow out of control.

"Snap out of it. You need to control your power. Breathe, and focus on my voice."

I tried to shake her from her nightmare state then stopped when she mumbled something under her breath.

"They... deserve to die..."

"...."

Hearing her say that made me realize how serious the situation was.

"Listen to me," I said sternly. "You need to focus on my voice. You're not there anymore. Breathe, and let go of the past."

The shadows in the room began to grow restless. Their growls continued and seemed to be responding to her emotions very well as if it was feeding off her pain and fear.
