[Y/n's PoV]

After some preparation Jade handed me a formal suit before we head to the Casino.

When we arrived, I couldn't help but feel a sense of tension building up inside me. The bright lights and flashy signs outside the building were dazzling, and the sound of music and chatter could be heard from inside from which I'm not used to.

The casino floor was filled with tables and rows and rows of slot machines as well as a bar and lounge area off to the side.

The security guard nodded upon seeing the tickets in Jade's hand, and immediately allowed us an entrance onto the VIP area of the casino. It was more exclusive and private than the rest of the casino, with seats and a view overlooking the main floor. Just by being up here, you could see the entire casino at a glance.

"This way."

She led me to a table where Aventurine and Topaz were already seated, sipping on their cocktails.

Aventurine lifted his glass lazily, saluting our arrival with a smile.

"Ah, there you are."

His eyes glance over to Jade then back to me.

"Nice suit."

"Behave." Jade shot back as she took a seat next to Topaz.

Aventurine merely smirked but didn't say anything else and fixed his gaze towards the casino floor below instead.

Throughout the evening, they all engaged in idle banter and small talk; their conversation ranging from work-related topics to more personal ones.

Despite the ease of their banter, I was still on my guard thinking that something significant was about to occur.

"Diamond really is a workaholic," he muttered under his breath, "sending us here disguised as VIPs all to prevent some shady stuff from going down."

"He's just being thorough." Topaz replied. "We can't afford to let anything slip through the cracks."

Jade, on the other hand cleared her throat before setting down her wine glass on the table.

"Alright, let's start." She said.

"We'll split up into pairs. Aventurine and Topaz, you two cover the east side of the casino and scan the main floor for any suspicious activities or people. Meanwhile, we'll head to the west side. We'll keep an eye on the VIP and gathering areas."

I glanced at Aventurine who seems to be frowning as he shot a questioning look at Jade.

"Hey, why don't I get to pair up with our new recruit?" He protested.

However, Jade just gave him a small smirk as her cold eyes dart at him.

"Problem?" she asked.

Aventurine's expression just turned sulky, but Topaz quickly swatted her hand against his shoulder to shush him quietly.

"No complaining."

Topaz reprimanded Aventurine as her eyes narrowed at him.

He grumbled something under his breath but didn't say anything more since Jade was still his superior. I guess Jade being their senior gave her some advantages. Meanwhile she glanced over at me with that slight upturn smile at the corner of her lips.

"Shall we get going?"

I nodded slightly. She then gestured for me to follow her as she stood up from the table. The two of us left Aventurine and Topaz behind and made our way through the casino, maneuvering through the maze-like structure.
