[Jade's PoV]

A few hours passed before I finished up the paperwork and made my way to my private quarters. I was expecting to find her either taking a shower or relaxing for just for a tiny bit.

When I entered the room, I glanced around, looking for any sign of her presence but the room was silent and empty with no sign of her anywhere.

"Hmm, now where did she go..." I muttered.

I first checked the bathroom, but it was empty and spotless like she never used it to take a shower.

...?

I then glanced towards the big glass window and noticed the rain were pouring heavily outside as the droplets of water tapped against the glass.

She wouldn't be out there, would she...

Although from the corners of my eye, a glint of movement caught my attention and focused my gaze to the small, shadowy figure standing alone outside in the rain.

"...."

I sighed quietly, realizing where she might have gone. I quickly grabbed my coat, and of course not forgetting to grab an umbrella as I walked towards the exit.

I stepped into the elevator before pressing the button for the ground floor. The doors slid shut as the elevator began its descent towards my destination.

Moments later, the elevator arrived at the ground floor with a soft ding. The doors slid open, revealing her figure.

She was now sitting quietly while the rain poured down heavily on her, but she didn't seem to mind nor care.

I walked towards her. The rain was hitting my coat. I held the umbrella above her head to keep herself dry, but her clothes were already drenched.

I just stood beside her while studying her blank expression. Soon enough, her face tilted upward to face me.

"What are you doing out here?" I break the silence.

"Taking a shower." She replied.

Oh?

I couldn't help but to chuckle at her response. Even in the pouring rain, she still had her way of answering my question with such dry humor.

"You're going to catch a cold," I scolded. "I thought you were going to take a shower in my room?"

"...Yes, I was about to but then raindrops started pouring outside and made me rethink my decision. Besides, I had a hard time using your bathroom properly yesterday since I usually just take a shower when it rains. My parents forbid me to use our own bathroom then, saying that I'm just wasting water." She explained.

"You..."

I suddenly halted what I was about to say and didn't push the topic further, however she nodded her head before gazing blankly at the distance.

"You might already know that our planet was the center of a storm, and when the Stellaron decided to target our planet, it usually rains almost every day."

I had read her files, so I knew about the storm that constantly plagued her planet and yet she spoke about it as if it were just a minor inconvenience. She really is an interesting girl.

Hmm?

I watched as she moved away from me and stepped out into the rain again.

Of course I wanted to pull her back under the safety of the umbrella— to bring her back inside where it's warm and dry.
