Chapter 16: The emerald.

(3rd person POV:)

He sits very close to (Y/N) and she looks deep into his eyes. His hand touches her hand. Their faces are so close to eachother.. "So... what did you wanna tell me...?" She asks softly and whispery.

Their noses are almost touching each other.

That was until Shadow gained consciousness and backed away. "Emerald.." He said. "What..?" (Y/N) replies. "I um.." He cleared his throat. "I wanted to talk to you about that emerald." He continued. "Shadow.. what emerald?" "Don't act stupid, you mentioned earlier that Robotnik had an emerald. Knowing him, he sent you here to find more." He says.

(Y/N) just looks at him. She seemed disappointed. "I cannot tell you anything about that." She replies. "Well looks like someone still sides with her owner, thought you didn't wanna be his 'little doggy' anymore." Shadow says as he stands up and faces her on the other side. "Of course, what would a little thing like you do without her boss. You miss him, and the arc." He continues, a little smirk forming on his face. "Stop Shadow, I know what you're doing and I won't tell you anything."

He started to get pissed off and looks at her with a mad expression. Then he gets closer to her. "Stand up." He says. She does what he tells her and they're standing close to each other. "Please.." He whispers. She looks at him with wide eyes. "I guess I could tell you a little but.." "But what?" "I don't know much about it. Everything is on my screen and it broke when I got here." She says. "Tell me what you know and i'll find a way to fix that thing later." He said.

"Well I know that there are different colours actually! Robotnik has a purple and a red one. He says they're not powerful enough and that he needs the green one for something big." (Y/N) said. "I also know that it's somewhere hidden very deep. The echidnas used to guard it with their life but after their species basically went extinct the emerald is all alone somewhere deep." She continues.

He looks at her almost wanting to smile but little does (Y/N) know that the emerald won't be in good hands if Shadow has it.

"I have the exact co-ordinations on my screen and everything I need to know about but i'll only give it if you also tell ME something." (Y/N) said. "What." He replies. "I want you to tell me why you keep working for eggman." She says. "None of your business."

"Well then, I guess the deal is off." (Y/N) says as she stands up and does a winky face. "I'll be going back to Amy." "Wait." Shadow says. "Fine i'll tell you." He continues.

She sits back down and looks up at him while he just scoffs and crosses his arms. "He's all I have left." He said. "After Maria's death I was left here on earth and he kind of reminds me of Maria." Shadow said. "Eggman? Like Maria??! Tshhh he would be the last person in whole existence to be like Maria." She replies. "You don't understand. He's actually...."

"Nice? Sweet? A heart of gold? Is that the word you're looking for?"

"In your words maybe." He answered. "Whatever you don't know him like I do." He seemed so serious. "Then why do you always flip him off, you're always angry and irritated when he's around." She replies. "Because he's so irritating. He gets on my last nerve every time."

"AWWW AND YOU LOVE HIM STILL! YOU'RE SO SWEET!" (Y/N) says in a happy tone and wide cute eyes. "Whatever I don't care what happens to him." "But you do."

"Get me that screen so we can look for the emerald. I want it." Shadow changed back to the first subject. "Sure i'll have it fixed tomorrow or something." She said.

Then Shadow teleported away.

Crack.

The sound of a stick breaking... (Y/N) had her eyes on that stick yet it broke without any touch? "What the.." Then out of nowhere Amy and Sticks appeared and it seemed like they were...fighting?
