One Last Chance

One Call Away

“Remember to eat well, don't be stubborn about eating when you're there. Call me if you ever need anything, okay bee?” Engfa said to Charlotte who was hugging Phalo at the filming studio.The couple was talking softly together in a corner while everyone else were gathering equipment and waiting for the rest of the crew.

Today Charlotte will depart with her team to Koh Samet for almost two months for their season finale filming. They'll be traveling by bus this time as the team was larger than last time, it would be a 7 hour journey and a few more to arrive at the National Park. In the early morning, she drove Charlotte to the studio to send her off.

Inside, Engfa was worried about her girlfriend's long journey and her strenuous acting even though she knew Charlotte was tough.

Most of all, she was worried about their time apart. Two whole months ….this would be their first time being so far away from each other since they reunited.

“I know, Fa fa. Don't worry, I'll call and text you as much as I can. I'm not sure if the park would have much signal, but I'll update you or have someone in the team to update you if I'm unavailable.” Charlotte replied softly, their eyes held love and strength for each other.

As discussed before, Charlotte had stayed a week at Engfa's house before this long journey away. Their bond had only strengthened and became closer than ever. Engfa had spoiled her like a princess the whole week. She cooked her plenty of food, treated her to whatever dessert she wanted and bought her whatever she wanted in the house. That included a new pair of house slippers, a few nightgowns and pajamas, a new set of skincare and many more.

They had thoroughly enjoyed ending their night together after their long days at work, sharing kisses and hugs in their warm beds. They reassured each other through their actions, words of affirmation and loving touches. After all, they had been apart so many times before, and for much longer periods than this. Surely, two months was nothing.

“Okay… take care of yourself na. I love you.” Engfa said softly. She stroked Charlotte's cheeks lovingly before kissing her forehead. She knew people were probably recording them but she no longer cared about those, after all, they had nothing to hide.

Charlotte turned her face to kiss Engfa's palm, “You too, Fa fa. Take care of yourself when I'm not around, don't forget to take your medicines and sleep early. I love you more.” Charlotte put Phalo on the sofa before hugging Engfa tightly. Her heart squeezed a little at the thought of being apart from Engfa for two months. Koh Samet was pretty far and they'd be filming in the forest, Charlotte had never felt so far.

Maybe it was because her heart was in Bangkok with Engfa.

She sniffed.

“Shh…Don't cry, baby. It's just two months, come back soon okay?” Engfa soothed and stroked her head in great tenderness. The last few days they had made love almost every night, as if to compensate for the physical distance in the coming days. Yet, Engfa still felt she could never get enough. Her heart was tight as well despite all the words she said. She discreetly wiped away her own tears and hid her face into Charlotte's long hair, breathing in her scent deeply.

The studio was now empty, everyone was slowly getting into the bus to give the couple some privacy. Charlotte took this chance to kiss her lover deeply, pouring all her emotions into the kiss.

“I have to go now, Fa.” Char whispered as they leaned their foreheads.

Engfa took a deep breath and gave her one last kiss, “Okay, let's not keep your team waiting.” She put on a brave smile and carried Phalo in her arms, she waited for Charlotte to pick up her handbag before she walked her out to the bus.
