The next morning, Engfa was at her new presenter job for a shampoo brand. She was a little short on temper herself, but she remained professional and smiled at everyone regardless. After all, a job was a job, and she couldn't let her own personal issues affect her responsibilities.
“Engfa, you have flowers and a cup of latte delivered to you.” P’Sun said as he carried the gifts to a surprised Engfa. She was in the holding room talking to Mae Jade about the script when he came in with a bouquet of red roses.
“Oh, from who?” Engfa stood up to receive the roses and the coffee with a confused smile, “Mae, is it from you?”
“Oh no, sorry we didn't get you anything.” Mae laughed, “except a few bottles of shampoo and conditioner.”
“I don't know as well, I was walking from the entrance when the delivery man came and said it's for you.” P’Sun said with a secretive smile.
Engfa shook her head and took a grateful sip of her coffee, she hummed. Her mood immediately lifted as the coffee was made the exact way she liked, 3 parts oat milk and 2 shots of espresso with less sugar.
There's only three people including herself who knew the exact way she liked her coffee.
Herself, P’Sun and…
Oh.
“Char…” Engfa whispered to herself as she stared at the coffee in her hand, then quickly looked for a note in the flowers. It was their inside joke to hide little things deep inside bouquets of flowers, whether it was a note or a different type of flower.
There was indeed one, she debated whether to read it now or later when Mae and P’Sun exchanged glances behind her.
“I'll go check on something with the director.” Mae cleverly excused herself, Engfa smiled bashfully and nodded.
After Mae left, Engfa took out the note which was carefully wrapped by a plastic covering.
“Have a wonderful day today, teerak. Always with you.” Xoxo Bunny
Engfa's heart squeezed with all sorts of mixed feelings, first immediate feeling was remorse, then it was anger at herself, followed by deep longing and love. She sighed heavily.
“From Charlotte?” P’Sun asked knowingly.
Engfa slumped her shoulders and stared at the roses. She nodded without words.
“Wait, hold on. Why aren't you happy?” P’Sun asked, noticing her upset mood.
“I am. I am.” Engfa grumbled, “I'm just angry at myself and frustrated with the situation. Long distance sucks.”
P’Sun sat closer to comfort her, “I know it sucks, but at least the both of you are making the effort right? This is such a sweet gesture, she knew you had a bad day yesterday.”
Oh, she definitely knew…
“I was rude to her last night and now I feel so bad.” She mumbled as she stroked the roses delicately.
“Then apologize.” P’Sun shrugged, as if that was the most obvious and simplest solution.
Engfa nodded and quickly snapped a few pictures to send to her girlfriend,
“I love them and I love you. Sorry I was rude last night.” Engfa texted. The text was not even read. It was now 11am, Charlotte was probably in the middle of filming.
It sure was tough being on the receiving end of no replies for hours on end. Engfa felt even more sorry now.
Her heart felt heavy, knowing she couldn't text or call her girlfriend to even thank her properly.
