July came with the smell of incense sticks in the air. The hot sun shone brightly in the skies and the wind blew hot air to passersby. Engfa and Charlotte stood side by side, next to the director and their fellow cast members as they prayed at the temple.

Today, they will start filming Beyond The Veil after a month of workshops and preparation. It will be at least 3 months of intense shooting if they plan to release the movie in November.

Everyone bowed in unison as they prayed for a successful movie as well as a smooth production. The monk chanted before the Buddha statue as they dipped their heads low, then they put the sticks into the bowl. Engfa and Charlotte exchanged a glance and smiled, they didn't need words to understand each other.

“Today is the first day of shooting, we'll be staying at the hostel for the first three days before we space out the schedule. Let's take good care of each other. Eat well, sleep well and film well!” Director Niran clapped his hands and gave a small pep talk. Everyone clapped and was in good spirits, eager to get started.

There were a few prominent locations they would frequent. The most important one was a Thai castle to which their hostel was located nearby, the women were on the left wing and the men on the right.

Engfa and Charlotte would obviously be sharing a unit of their own. They settled their bags inside. It was a simple and clean room with a king bed provided, nothing too extravagant.

“Are you ready for filming, baby?” Engfa put her clothes in the closet before walking to her girlfriend at the window.

“Look, they're setting up all the tents and cameras now.” Charlotte pointed out the window. From where they stayed, they could see the beautiful view of the castle grounds where the crew were already beginning their work.

“Mm, it's a beautiful castle.” Engfa held her girlfriend's hand and replied softly.

“I'll miss our babies a lot though, three days without them is so sad.” Charlotte sulked at her girlfriend.

“If it's alright with Director Niran, I'll ask P’Sun to bring them tonight for a while.” Engfa said easily.

“Really?”

“Of course. Let's work hard for now.”

“Okay, I love you.” Charlotte sighed happily before leaning in to kiss her girlfriend sweetly.

“I love you too, come on.” Engfa smiled into their kiss.

Their schedule was 7am until 6pm, and then 9 until midnight. Their fans supported them on their social media, tagging them and giving encouraging words.

They couldn't update too much to avoid spoilers but posted a few stories to show they were in this together. In Charlotte's story, she took a picture of Engfa loosely clasping her left hand on top of their scripts. Both of their matching rings glinted in the sunlight as their make up artists worked on them. In the caption, she put: 🎬Day 1

They were already in their designated clothes while memorizing their lines. Now, all that was left was taking off their rings.

Charlotte pouted sadly as she fidgeted with the ring on her left finger. Since Engfa put it on her during Christmas last year, she had never once taken it off. Even during their photoshoots for the movie, she requested to have their rings photoshopped out instead of taking it off. P’James is their friend and has been with Englot for a long time, so he easily agreed with her request and claimed it was something very easy to do.

This is her first ring, one that she treasures very much. Whenever she felt anxious or stressed, she would touch it and feel calm from its presence. It had been seven months now Engfa's ring resided on her finger and now she had to take it off. The thought of losing it was unbearable and made her anxious.
