One Last Chance

Sweet Reveal

Another two weeks passed before Engfa was able to bring her wife to their next appointment. She had been busy filming and managing MGT. Most importantly, she was also prioritizing handing over some tasks to Aoom.

After a long discussion, she and Charlotte had agreed that she would talk to boss a little while before they announced their pregnancy. Time became quite scarce as they tried to fit everything before Charlotte's stomach started showing.

It was Charlotte's tenth week and the babies were the sizes of little limes. Engfa brought her wife in to see Mor Lena, both of them waiting eagerly for the blood test.

Mor Lena received the report from the nurse and flipped through it. She smiled at the couple and asked casually, “Any expectations or wants, girls?”

Charlotte rubbed her stomach fondly and shook her head, “Not really, as long as they're well and healthy.”

Engfa nodded in agreement, she intertwined her hand with Charlotte and replied, “I feel the same. Charlotte has a godson and I have a goddaughter, I love them equally.”

“That's wonderful. Would you like me to reveal the babies’ genders or would you like to keep it to a gender reveal party later on?” Mor asked.

“Oh, Char?” Engfa looked at her wife and asked. “What does Char want?”

Charlotte bit her lips and voiced her concerns, “But since they're twins, I think it's better to know sooner so we can start buying things, Fa.”

“Babies can wear whatever they want regardless of their gender na.” Engfa gently said.

“I know but Fa knows what I mean. And even though we're okay with whichever, Char still wants the moment to be private to us.” Charlotte requested.

Engfa agreed easily, she didn't have much opinion and let Charlotte make most of the decisions. Mor Lena smiled at their communication and said, “Well, there is no rush. I will put the result in this envelope. When you're ready, you can open it anytime.”

The older woman received the envelope gratefully, she really appreciated Mor Lena's kindness and understanding throughout their entire process. The wives thanked the doctor and left the hospital.

Engfa asked her wife, “So when does Char want to know? We can open it together.”

Charlotte looked at the envelope in her hands and thought for a while, then she said to her wife, “How about we hire someone to make a small cake for us? Then, Fa and I can cut it together to reveal it?”

The older woman looked at the sweet wife's face full of anticipation. She chuckled and held her hand, “Dai, that sounds amazing. I know Char wants it to be private, but I was wondering if I can bring us back to visit my mother? We can have the cake together.”

Charlotte's eyes lit up with joy, she nodded eagerly and added, “Let's invite my parents too, we haven't had a family meal in a very long time.”

“Should we do it at home or Char wants Fa to book a restaurant?” Engfa smiled happily as she drove them home. Unfortunately, she did not have the luxury of having the full day off and had to go back to work soon. Still, she savored every moment she had with her wife.

“Is it too much trouble to do at Mae Bow’s house? I need to fly my parents from Phuket too.”

“My mom loves visitors, especially family reunions. I'm sure she'll be more than happy to see all of us at her home. Don't worry about it, my love.” Engfa reassured, “Just tell me when and I'll buy the plane tickets as well as arrange someone to clean your apartment.”
