Chapter 10

Lia's POV

I woke up next day to a knock on my door.
"Come in !" I half shouted.
Door slowly opened and prince Griffins head appeared in the door way.
"Hi, awake ?" He said with a small smile
I blushed.
What the heck is happening with me ?
You like him!
My wolf's voice sounded in my head .
I can't though! He's a prince, engaged may I add!

He's your mate !
My wolf said proudly.

Well shit me.. that's a news... how on earth she wants me to believe that.. ?!

"Hm... I will leave you to get ready.. I will wait downstairs. Take your time little wolf" prince said with a smirk

I blushed even more if that's possible. Nodded my head I've seen him closing the door.

What do you mean "he's your mate!" ?? That's not possible ! I shout in my head while moving out of my bed towards the bathroom.
My wolf stayed quiet.
I look at my reflection in the mirror..
Why Moon Goddess had to punish me like that? I keep staring at myself.. why did she punished him like that ? He's a prince for crying out loud. He needs someone strong, kind, smart and definitely prettier than me !
I sighed...
Well at least he will never find out..
My wolf whimpers.
You know it's true- he cannot feel the bond because of Ethan's mark..
oh my goddess! We have hurt him before we even met him .. he could feel when we were marked... all those times .. and..

My eyes started to fill with water. My wolf stayed quiet all the times whimpering lightly at my words. I think we both knew what that means for us. We will never find happiness. I had a quick shower and washed my face in cold water. Combed my hair and put fresh clothes on. Took a Deep breath in as I was walking down the stairs.
I opened the door to the lounge.
Prince and Hunter were standing next to a chimney, talking. I went in and bowed to them showing my respect. They smiled.
Suddenly someone engulfed me in a tight hug. I turned around recognising this scent. Slightly surprised.
"Alex!" I shouted and hugged him again.
"Lia , I'm so happy to see you here. And you look well, still on the slim side but well !"
Alex said quickly, wide smile filling his face..
I smiled back. The first genuine smile in years. I was happy to see him, happy that he was safe and happy with his mate, who now has put his arm around Alexes back. Bringing him closer to his chest. This little possessive gesture showing us how much he loved him.
"Lia thank you for doing what you did for us! I know you've paid price for that also . " Alex said a bit sad
I looked at him straight in eye and nodded. "I would do it again just to see you so happy! I'm glad that everything worked out for you" I replied.
Whole this time Griffin was watching us, me. I know he doesn't know why his wolf reacts the way he does and it must be a bit confusing. A small furrowed line appeared between his eyebrows. He was thinking.
He looks so cute like that.
My wolf commented
Please calm down, he's not ours to have, you need to separate from those thoughts.
I sighed.
"Did you have breakfast already ? I can cook something for you ? "I asked.
"I told Itan earlier, we are leaving in about 3 hours, had to move our plans a bit forwards. Itan and his mate are already in the kitchen. They want to talk to us before we have to leave. Please join us to eat something and then go pack . The car is picking us up at 2pm. That will give us time to get back to our pack house before tomorrow."
Griffin said looking at me
I nodded. Well there's no turning back now.
We went into kitchen sat around dinning table, our food was served almost immediately. Jackson looked at me, trying to read my thoughts.
"Hey little one, are you alright?" He asked , his face full of worry.
"Yeah it's nothing" I gave him one of my fake smiles and turned to my food.
He watched me a bit longer but didn't say anything else.

After breakfast I went to my room to pack a few things I have got thanks to bears and went out to sit in the garden enjoying cold air.
"Lia, can I sit next to you" Jackson asked looking down at me.
I nodded.
We sat there for a second and then I spoke.
"I know what you want to ask. I will answer your question but you cannot pass this information to anyone - not even Itan.." I said slowly looking at the ground.
Jackson sighed but agreed.
" I can hear my wolf. " I started saying "I can feel her, all emotions all scents.. I cannot believe that I will go back with Prince.. it will be hard for me to be around him- but I have to do it. If I don't he will slowly loose his strength, focus and will be slowly losing a part of himself. " I said. Jackson's eyes widened "he's your mate .." he whispered.
I nodded
"Lia you can't .. you will be in so much pain.. watching your mate with other shewolf will be dangerous for you! Not after all you have gone through " -Jackson said sadly.
I pinched bridge of my nose , holding my tears down.
"I don't have a choice. " I said looking at the ground

"There is always a choice " Jackson said lifting my chin up to look at him "you are sacrificing yourself.. he cannot feel you are his mate but he will feel the bond - there is a chance he will realise .."
"He won't .. I will not let that happen"
I said stopping him half way through the sentence.
"I cannot stand or survive my mates rejection.. I just know I will not be able to survive it.." I said looking back at the floor " I will be there for him, serving him as best as possible, but he cannot know who I am. Never!" With that I got up to my feet.
I had about 20min before cars are here to take us to the pack house. I decided to take a quick walk to the edge of the forest and back. Giving myself time to calm down.
When I came back it was time to go.
I thanked bears and Itan for everything they did for me. Hugged Brian and Jackson and they told me we will see each other soon. Griffin's engagement party was getting close.
I smiled last time and got in the car. Hunter and Alex sitting next to me, prince Griffin and one of his bodyguards in front of us.

I watched for a few hours outside world. In the wild, animals were enjoying their life- slowly- happily. In the city people enjoyed their time with friends and family. Family.. something that I will never have.. a single tear escaped my eye.
I quickly wiped it with a back of my hand.
Prince Griffin was watching me.
After few hours in the car - a short plane trip and few minutes more in the car we finally were arriving at the Royal pack house.

I opened my eyes as I was asleep last 2hours.
A pack house my ass, more like a castle.
Well it kind of makes sense as that's where prince lives.

Griffin looked at me with a small smile. I could sense he was proud of his pack.

"Lia, I have to bring my aura up
While I'm here.
I'm sorry if that will make you feel uncomfortable in any way."
He said softly.
I nodded
I kind of knew this will happen sooner than later - again he's a prince.
As soon as the car stopped someone opened the door and a heavy aura from prince hit me like a brick wall. I gasped.

Now this is something I didn't predict. His scent got stronger and I could barely stand on my legs. I started to feel dizzy. Whole world slowly closing on me.

Lia, hold on ! I'm with you! Stay strong ! My wolf shouted at me in my head.
But all I could do was to let darkness cover my vision completely.
