Part 23

Lia's POV

Sandiego came quickly followed by Izzy and one of the bears. Kit.

I will speak to him about that all protective behaviour later . I said to my wolf
You think they're mates ? She asked me excitedly.

Yep, that's exactly what I think. I answered truly.

I grabbed my essentials and followed them to hideout.

We went down the long staircase. Through the basement to the heavy flap in the floor. Sandie opened it and three of us jumped in joining other women and children. The hideout was big. Two levels underground. With small rooms, all containing bunk beds. Two bigger rooms in the middle connecting bedrooms . One for dinning and one smaller, looking like a control room.

Rooms were nearly full. We were waiting for two more families that lived furthest away from pack house.
Kids and their mums, elderly relatives and the one who couldn't fight.
All of us together under that floor flap. At this moment I felt like I would never break the promise I gave to Griffin. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I would leave all of them alone. I felt like I need to help them. Protect them

Thinking like a true Luna. My wolf said .

I was. At that moment with all those people around me I felt important. They've known I was their Luna, they could smell Griffins scent on me. All over me. I looked around. It seems like everyone stopped doing what they did and looked at us. Izzy put her right arm on my shoulder and sign of respect. And at that moment everyone seems bow. I wasn't sure what to do. What they expected me to do.

"Thank you" I said.

"Are you here to protect us ?" A little girls in front row asked.

"Yes. Always " I answered smiling gently towards her.

We have been trapped here for a while.
Sandiego linking with others. Keeping us updated as much possible.

A loud sound just outside of the entrance told us something wasn't right.
I got up to my feet. My eyes connecting with beta's eyes.

„Everyone go to last shelter and lock the door" Sandi shouted. I nodded.
My whole body was on high alert.
Izzy started to gather people in high security room at the bottom of this hideout.
I faced Sandi once more.
Izzy shouting at me come so she can close the door. I shook my head.

„Luna, I will have to go check what's happening. The guys who supposed to be outside are not responding, close the flap after me and do not open it for anyone. Even for me" he said quickly.

„Sandiego.."I started but didn't have a chance to finish, as Beta gave me a quick hug, looked in my eyes and said
„Take care of them Luna. It was pleasure meeting you" and he disappeared on the other side. I locked the flap and looked at Izzy.

„I'm sorry but I can't go. You go in and lock the door . Use tunnels if you have to." I said
Izzy looked at me with her head slightly the side.

„How come you know about tunnels? „She just asked

I smiled .

„Go. And don't look back" I said closing the door in front of her.

I was alone.

At this moment I knew I will die protecting them. Protecting my pack.

I was trying to listen to anything. No sound. Not even a whisper.
Just the suffocating silence.

I was waiting for any sign, sound, movement. But I couldn't see or hear a thing.
Sudden sharp pain in my left side told me something was wrong.

Griffin...
There is no use in link. He blocked it .But I  felt it. He's hurt.
My wolf voice echoed in my head. My mate was hurt. And I cannot help him heal. I was angry at this point.

A loud bang was just outside of the room.
And another one
And one more

I shivered knowing this is it. Someone got inside.

Flap pushed open and three rouges went in.

I was frozen in my spot

„So this is it? An omega ?" Said the guy in the middle
„I hopped for some fun.." said the one on the left

„you have hopped wrong." Sandiego said from entrance

A relief washed over me. My wolf howling in my head
Let me take over please

Are you sure ? We didn't shift for so long? I asked her very hesitant.

Before she had a chance to answer the middle guy crossed the room. My body suddenly aware of his presents next to me.
In the corner of my eye I saw Sandi fighting two others, still in human form.

A blow to the side of my face send me to the other side for the room. My back hitting the wall. Everything has happened in almost a slow motion
