Chapter 15

Lia's POV
Pack's main square was a small place between busy streets that belonged to Royal Pack.
A lot of people were there already.
In the middle,  there was a place that I knew all too well. Seems like all packs have it, more for rouge wolves than members of the pack but my old pack used it both ways. A long silver pole in the middle and a water pump not far from it.

Cold winter air hit my face, I took a steady breath. My body refuses to relax.
Alex walked with me. All eyes on me as they could see the state of me. I was bare feet, my T-shirt soaked with my blood, especially on the back. Eyes red from crying. Yep, I looked hot!

I raised my head up. If that's going to kill me I will at least die with pride. My eyes focused forwards. I've met all warriors eyes looking at me.
Hunter and Sandiego took my hands.
"I'm sorry Luna" a quiet whisper escaped Hunters mouth, loud enough only for my ears to hear.
I nodded slightly.
My hands were connected to a long pole, my feet tight together.
A single tear escaped my eyes.

Griffins presence next to me made me feel mate bond and calmed my nerves down.
"This rouge " - my stomach flipped, rejection even when he doesn't realise what he's doing, hurt a lot. I closed my eyes , he continued "attacked your future Luna. And she will be punished as an example, any one interfering with it will be also punished !" He's strong voice roared through the crowd .

I could hear it before I've felt it.
A snap of a leather and a silver ball at the end ripped through the air hitting my already broken back.

I hissed. I was told by my old alpha not to make a noise. I've learnt that will only make things worse.
I would not give them this satisfaction.
Another bite to my skin. Blood already running down my legs
Three times and I was waiting for more.

But all I could hear was a sound of a whip falling to the ground. I'm scared to look but I feel like I should. I turn my head and I see Griffin with another man, with similar features. His hand on Princes shoulder.
Griffins face is covered with tears.
He stumbles few steps back. Wide eyes looking at me. Golden rings visible. Alpha wolf present.
I can see confusion crossing his mind.
Did he feel that whip on his skin when he hit me. Is our connection so strong already?
I could see him taking a breath in.

"Griff. "The mysterious men said.
"Come let's talk about what happened"
At this moment I could  see Claire coming to him, trying to hug her future mate but he just shook her off.

He gave me a last pained look and turned around shifting and running towards the forest. His big black wolf hitting his paws on the ground with extra speed. The man smiled at me sadly and shifted into his gray beast, following Prince to the forest.

Alex and Hunter moved to my side. As fast as light.
I took a deep breath.
Both of them growl. I could feel their anger running in waves through the air as they checked my back.

Wolves around us started to whisper.

Beta Sandi yelled
"Go home, go! Get ready for tomorrow's celebration! Do not talk about what just happened! No question ask!"

"Lia let me help you ,little one" said Hunter gently covering my body with wet towel. I thank him quietly not trusting my words.
Alex was standing on the other side giving me some water to drink.
They took me to a hospital wing. I don't think that was allowed but I know I needed it and they seemed not to care about consequences.
I could feel now blood sipping more, as I was moving.

Once in doctors office Izzy came in to check on me.
" Lia I'm so sorry that this happened to you. You don't deserve any of it." Sad expression crossed her face.

"Its ok he doesn't know the full story"
I said looking at my hands.

"Maybe but he was to stubborn to listen that this was definitely not your fault.." she touched my hand " I know you have a special power, your wolf's eyes are blue. Like mine when I have a vision. I can see in peoples past lives. Sometimes I can sense what are their thoughts or plans. " she sighed.
"What's your skills Lia?" she asked.
"I'm a healer " I can help people when they needed.
You've seen my past?" I asked. She nodded
"Then you know that I was marked by my pack, I was used, beaten and thrown away" I looked in her eyes. "I don't have any value anymore"

She looked back at me and I know what she wanted to ask. Why I cannot heal myself.
I answer before her question is out.
"My wolf doesn't feel strong enough to heal us. It will take awhile to get rid of all those on my back." I take a deep breath in and exhale slowly. "You see, when we got marked, our mate could feel it and my wolf feels like we deserve everything that comes upon us for hurting him" I finished looking at her.
She was quiet for a second then she hugged me gently.
That moment doctor came in and Izzy was made to leave the room.

Griffin POV
As soon as I whipped her the first time something felt off. Second and third time and my back started to hurt, like someone was hitting me.
What's happening - I've asked my wolf trying to catch w breath.
I.. I'm .. sorry.. I should have figured this out earlier ... I'm so sorry - he says and he forced me to shift.
I didn't even realise that my cousin was standing next to me..
my wolf ran through the forest with so much force . Picture of Lia's blooded body engraved in my mind reminding me what I've done. How I've broke her trust and ...

"Griff stop!" I heard through my mind link
I started to slow down. Pacing now around the trees.
"I hurt her.. I hurt her.. " I can hear my wolf talking to him back.
"I know Alpha. She will forgive you, I know she will. "He answered sadness in his voice.
My wolf allowed me to shift back. I found some shorts and sat on the log.
My wolf retreated to the back of my mind.

Nyko sat next to me.
"Look Griff I'm not sure how much your wolf told you, but I'm sure you've figured it out .."
"She's my mate.." I stopped him.
"That's the only explanation why I felt what I did when I've hurt her. I hurt my mate. I'm a real monster "
I said looking at my feet.
I felt Nyko's arm on my shoulder
"No, you are not. You didn't know she's your mate" he tried to reassured me

"Yes but I know now" I said
"I have to make things right, I will beg her to forgive me, on my knees. I cannot believe that she's my mate. Wait, did she know? " I asked nobody particular
Nyko gave me reassuring smile
"It will work out Griffin, you will see"
And with that we both started to head towards the pack house.
