Chapter 11

The day Lia fainted the first time - when she wakes up and realises she can hear her wolf.

Griffin's POV

I looked at her gentle face. She looked exhausted. I talked to Itan so I knew basics about her. I knew that they found her barely alive and she started to trust them but it took time.
She is so pretty. But still fragile. I know that it will take a bit of time for her to open to me or Hunter. We will patiently wait for that time. Alex didn't wanted to say a lot about her. He said that he didn't want to remember all that happened in his old pack. Visiting this "alpha of the year" is on my list of things to do. I will do what needs to be done to help others in that pack.

A wave of frustration hit me like a brick wall.
What is it ? I asked my wolf..
I'm not sure.. he said after few moments.
I can feel him stretching, pushing even, he feels confused- and it makes me confused...

At that moment Lia's eyes shoot open and I could see all of her emotions.

Gosh she's pretty
My wolf whined.

Remember we are engaged you horny dog!

Tell me you don't think like that about her and I will stop. He said wagging his tail.

What the f*ck is happening to me. I could not hear anything that was happening around me. I quickly got up and left Lia's room before I even had a chance to loose my sanity.

Hunter's voice entered my mind

"You ok Griff? " I could hear worry etched into my gamma's voice.
I sighed, running my hands through my messy hair. I headed downstairs.
"I will be. I just need a moment. Can you get me a report on the Jackals and Hyenas? What progress we did in this subject?" I asked Hunter trying to avoid further conversation.

"I will do it now Alpha! " he answered and I could hear him leaving Lia's room.

A bit later the same day

I was avoiding her. Yes me, alpha Prince future king was avoiding a tiny wolf.
I couldn't understand what my wolf feels about her as he did and it was making me feel ... unsettled...
Evening came faster than expected.
I knew Alex, Hunters mate will be here soon. Hunter gave me all info about Hyenas. They attacked another pack- we have to go back earlier.
After the unpleasant surprise from Alec while meeting Chloe at the hyenas pack, I know we have to work quickly. Sandie (my main enforcer) collected all our warriors to go home already. We need better plan. And with Alec helping hyenas...
I will need to add another fight on my busy list.
Itan Cecil agreed to help but only when needed. My engagement party needs to happen within this weeks we cannot wait. Only then I will be able to use all kings power. We need to win with hyenas and jackals ... I cannot believe those dirty dogs are helping one another.
I asked for help other kingdom- my cousin in a western side. They agreed to join and we will start all works soon. I cannot wait to see him again.
We were always like brothers.

I put my head down on my pillow and slowly drifted to sleep. Next day came faster then needed. I quickly had a shower and prepared myself to leave. We will travel today. Hunter was busy "catching up " with Alex so I decided to do the only thing I was avoiding yesterday and go to Lia's room.

Her scent was nearly non existent. I could smell a bit of lime tree and green forest mixed with something off.. it just doesn't add up..
I took a breath and gently knocked on her door. A small voice came from the other side and I peeked in through a small gap.
She looked so cute and a bit of pink blush covered her cheeks.
F*ck
She's doing something to me. The way she looks at me, the way I make her blush..
snap out of it Griff! I tried to calm my running heart.
She was deep in thoughts ..

She's talking to her wolf
My wolf said after a moment
I can sense her. Weakly but she's there
I furrowed my brows
I thought she didn't have a wolf anymore? I asked him
She got her back. I cannot reach her wolf just yet but I will keep trying. He said, determination in his mind.
I excused myself and went down, giving her time to prepare.

She came downstairs looking as beautiful as ever. She bowed low, showing me and Hunter respect. Alex came through the side door, quickly approached her and brought her into a tight hug and something within me stirred, for a split of a second my wolf wanted Hunter's mate dead.

I don't get it.. why are you so possessive? I've asked him
I... I don't know - he answered. I could feel him pacing in my head.

I informed Lia about change of our plans. We will be leaving in a couple of hours.. we ate our last meal with Itan and I went for a run - bears forest is amazing. They really have a good spot here. With a big lake in the middle of it. On the way back I could see Lia walking to and back from the forest. Sadness etched to her face.
What is it little wolf ? - I wondered - why are you sad?
I decided at that moment that I will try to make her as comfortable as possible.
Our ride to the jet was quiet. Lia didn't say much. She was looking at the world behind the window. I could feel her curiosity and sadness lingering in the air.
A single tear escaped her beautiful gray eyes. It took all of my strength to not wipe it with my hand. The urge to hug her and keep her close was so strong at that moment. My wolf wanted to make her feel better anyway possible.
I closed my eyes. Took the deep breath. I will have to tell her about my alpha aura, that will need to go up as soon as we cross our pack borders.
I have waited to the last possible moment for that.
She seemed ok with this idea.
So I released my hormones and all my power washed over every wolf in the pack. They knew I'm back home.

"Welcome back Alpha" came a voice through the pack mindlink.

"Thank you Mani" I answered to my Beta.
My head of security, and my delta, Sandie came to escort us to the palace.

At that moment my hearing caught raised voices talking frantically above one another.
I turned around and saw Lia fainting
Sh*t!
I moved before I knew it, catching her head before it hit the ground.
