Chapter 17

Griffin's POV

"How dare you come back here, you traitor! "
My alpha voice roared through the crowd.
I could see Lia dangerously close to him and my instinct was to protect her. Protect my mate.

"I don't understand why you are so worked up on it. I thought you've missed me? " he said. Smirk visible on his skinny face.
Izzy growled.

Alec turned around to face her.
"Oh, I nearly forgot I have a baby sister. How are you, b*tch?"

One of the bears growled. I turned my head slightly to see which one and my eyes rested on one of Cecil's youngest brothers. Kit. He's a nineteen years old warrior in bear clan.
He's head  stuck directly towards Alec. He was trying to control his bear. He's aura spreading across the room. Why.. ?

"I'm better than you will be in a few minutes. What you want Alec?"
Izzy asked sharply, anger lingering in her voice.

"I'm sorry that I'm interrupting this meeting but I came to claim what's mine" he said

"And what is that supposed to be?" I asked now .
I was getting annoyed.

My eyes stuck on my older brother.
His wolf was peaking.

"Throne" he answered with a smirk.
"You see, brother, with all mating rules that keep our kingdom together I can claim my right to the crown " he added .

Rules. Yes. Strict rule about future king being mated before he is named a king..

"You cannot. You don't have a mate" I said narrowing my eyes at him.

"Oh, I do actually. I'm fully mated, so I can and will claim the throne." He said, with a huge smile on his face.

I swallowed. That's not possible. I thought.

" Let me explain something to you. While you couldn't even sense your mate I was already in the game. " Alec pointed his long, slick finger towards Lia, smiling even more. He put his hand down and he continued

"I asked my mate to be my Luna and she agreed, but there is a twist to this story." He said.

"Well you already surprised me once when I saw you with hyenas. And so close to the witch. So you've mated Chloe? " I said.

He smiled, clearly amused by what I've said.
He waved his head from right to left and started to speak again

"You thought to take a chosen Luna as your mate. Naive, you thought you could be happy with Clarissa. That would never work. Because Claire over there is actually my true mate. "
He finished with his eyes looking at Claire.

"I knew you wouldn't be able to sense your mate. Let just say that Claire may have added something to your morning coffee everyday, for the last two years.

Alec said with disgust "is your mate"
He took a breath.

"I did involved Chloe but in a different way than you think. She is a witch, well done baby brother you get a cookie points. She helped me with you.
Instead of my help with jackals who will always listen to the wolf king. That I am"
He finished.

My wolf was now close to surface .
"You lying! Claire doesn't have a mark, you don't either." I challenged his words

"Oh, but we both do" at that Chloe The hyenas queen came in and as she flipped her fingers the mating mark on both Alec's and Claire's neck appeared.
I took a step forward.
A covering up spell.
