Chapter 25

I can't remember much.
It was like a dream.
Next day when I woken up I was surrounded by people that I've seen before. All apart one.

Lia's POV
My wolf stretched her paws - I followed the scent of my mate of his blood to be exact.
I hope he's ok.
I got to clearing
I saw Chloe and Alex and Jackson(??) surrounding her. I went out of tree line getting closer. My powerful aura rolling of my body. Head proudly up. My fur still dirty from blood. I saw hyenas and jackals bowing their heads with respect, no body was fighting.

No body was moving or even breathing
I stopped. Sniffed the air. His scent is here I'm sure but I cannot see him. I searched all shifters standing and then looked at the ground. There he was . Laying in the puddle of his blood. I lost it once again and jumped at Chloe. As soon as I did everyone started to fight again.
She didn't have any way of escape.

In her panicked state, she pushed her extended claws towards the brown wolf in front of her - subbing his back. I could hear a howl of wolf behind me. The corner of my eye catching Hunter shadow collapsing to the ground.

Alex- no !  I could feel sadness filling up the mind link.

My wolf moved with so much speed that even my human part couldn't fully comprehend what was happening. I managed to get closed then ever and bit her neck, strong. My teeth closing any gap between our bodies.
I felt her long nails digging in my stomach, breaking a skin. The smell of my blood filled air.
I knew what happened. Last words Chloe whispered was a spell. My animal side recognised the power. For a split of a second my wolf was scared but she quickly recovered. It felt like we make a very important decision.

After I dropped Chloe's lifeless and now headless body to the ground I could feel all eyes on us. Hyenas started to move back and jackals submitted, who ever was alive there were watching closely.

I shifted back into my human form.
Dropping down to my knees instantly I spat out the blood from my mouth. I gave a quick glance to Alex who was now laying inHunter's arms. With a corner of my eye I saw Griffin. My mate.
Laying lifeless under the tree.

Please Goddess don't take him away. I beg you. Take me instead.

I touched my tummy. My blood sipped through my fingers.

"Luna!" Hunter shouted.

I kneeled next to Alex. My hand made its way to his stomach. I know what to do. A blue light exploded from it and I could see his wound closing down.

Hunter gasped.
"Thank you my Luna" he whispered with tears in his eyes.

I got up and slowly stepped to my mate. If I die I want to be with him. He looked so peaceful. I looked around his body. The smell of poison was coming from him. I could sense it in his blood, on his breath. I could hear his heart still beating, barely.

I made another quick decision. I looked at Alex, Hunter and Jackson. I gave them a half hearted smile .

"Griffin, my Alpha hold on for me" I said kissing his knuckles

His eyes open at the sound of my voice. He looked at me with so much love. Love. That all I wanted to give him. No was the best time possible.

His hand found my face

"Griffin I'm sorry I wasn't the best mate you could have. I will never be worth of your love. Please forgive me" he tried to speak but I gently touched his lips with my hand

"Shhh! It's ok, this is how it have to be." I gave him last look. "See you on the other side " I added before leaning in.

"Lia no! " Jackson shouted as he moved towards me quickly.
But I knew nothing will change my mind.

As I moved my face above him, my lips slowly connecting with his.

A blue light filled up my body. My wolf's powers were working its magic. I am going to do anything I can to save him. He needs to survive. He will be a king. He can find another queen and have family and be happy. I will save him even if that means I will die...

Third person POV

We all just stood there. The main fight was over. We made sure of it. Jackals were submitting, hyenas were gone. Few wolves died. Families were left without brothers,  fathers. Everyone felt the sadness filling the pack link.

Our Alpha was weak but he was alive.
Hunter moved towards Lia. Held her hand and covered both Alpha couple with a blanket that Sandi just brought trying to keep them warm.

Pack doctors with some nursing help was running around trying to save our leaders.
Bears were now supporting our pack.
They started to remove hyenas bodies and taking care of wounded. They were big help during this fight, killing most of the hyenas. We were lucky to have them as an allies.

I don't know how long we have been in there.
It all felt fuzzy. Like I was watching it all through the fog. At some point Alpha pair was taken away and all of us went back to their homes trying to sort our lives back to normal as much as possible.
